I just got a RSX steering wheel with airbag (02 Acura rsx type S), what do I need to make work on my 01 Acura tl?

I remember reading something about the airbag harness not being compatible, something to do with stage 1 or stage 2 airbags.

Not completely sure though. Maybe someone can chime in.

01 TL is single stage. If im not mistaken the 02 RSX one is dual stage. It wont work without some resistor work (not sure how to do it)

since your car is a 01 acura tl...the steerin fit perfect but the air bag wont clip up..unless u wire it up....you have to get a ap1 s2000 air bag single stage..the steering wheels are the same so it bolts right in...

list
2002 rsx fit 02-03 tl direct swap dual stage
2006 s2000 fit 02-03 direct swap dual stage
ap1 s2000 01-04 fits 00-01 tl single stage

Yes.. But it doesn't need to just be a 02 rsx bag+wheel... It can be any year rsx 02-06. I'm not sure about the 06 s2k being a dual stage, from wat others that did the swap told me... was all s2k's are single stage IIRC... So yea if you have a 99-01 TL you can use any steering wheel rsk or s2k but yea need to use a s2k airbag because it is single stage...
If you have a 02-03 TL you also can use either steering wheel, you just need to get the rsx air bag because it is dual stage.... Also the rsx cruise control buttons plug right up to ours and work, not to sure about the s2000's tho. I believe the rsx radio controls are pnp as well

what makes a steering wheel fit or not fit?

a local Acura dealer is selling an '07-'08 TL-S steering wheel but he told me that it won't fit my '03 TL-S.. is that correct?

it will probably fit on the hub but i doubt the connectors for the airbag/cruise will work without modding

You have to buy the wheel with it or find someone selling it separately. As for how much? all depends on who is selling. Any where from 100 to 300 depending on wheel and seller.

yea the only way you could get the "A" is if you had a 02-03 so you can get the rsx bag... you might be able to change logos but i dunno how or if it would work??

MDX wheel fits. And the woodgrain matches. But only in black. The beige is off by a shade or two, I've heard.
