So why Iridium spark plugs over OEM?

Why do most people choose Iridium to replace spark plugs over OEM spark plugs?

OEM spark plugs in our 2nd gen TLs are ngk platinum. In the 3rd gen TLs iridium plugs are standard. When replacing spark plugs most guys simply upgrade to iridium for a better spark and longer life.

Here's a spark plug thread on the CL forum . . . I've got a couple of posts in there that provide some links to SparkPlug.com with decent information on spark plug FAQs.

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-cl-2001-2003-50/spark-plugs-773645/

Bottom line is that iridium has a longer life than platinum, hence the 100k before replacement is recommended. Make sure to check out the 411 section of SparkPlug.com
