so, I was thinking... can you replace the NAV system with a computer in the back...

let's list what I have...

1. Service manual for tl 1999(HEHEHE.... it has the pinouts)
2. Time
3. A computer I don't need anymore
4. electronics experience(enough to make a Tesla coil)
5. people
6. common sense(alot of people don't have it XD)
7. a lot of curiosity(I would be called curious george if I lived with any of my friends...)

do you mean use the navigation touch screen lcd as the touch screen lcd for a carputer?

if so that will be very hard since no one that i know of has been able to get into the wiring enough of the factory navigation screen to have the touch signals outputted to a computer.

if you want to use the factory navigation screen as just a monitor for a carputer setup and have a keyboard and mouse so you can use it then thats not hard at all.

you can easily get doms nav2go unit and have your computer's signal going out to a yellow and just plug it right in.

but if you want to rip apart your nav touch screen monitor and do what has not been done; please do and let us know how to do it too.

theres also a guy in the blackmarket who is selling a custom fabbed dash with a built in ts monitor if you are interested.

good luck.

if you can access the ts and make a dongle to dvi or something you will have a real money maker on your hands

if i recall i think someone tried this before but never posted any type of results.
good luck and let me know first if you come up with something.
