let the florida people chime in... cuz honestly.. it can't really get that bad there... beside.. there are always ways around flooded streets.. just get a cai...
if you see flooded street. go around.. simple.. and you're car isn't even lowered i bet.. just man up and do it.
only time you hydrolock is if your filter gets fullly submerged underwater.. and thats like.. 2-3 feet of water... i think.

i live in florida and about 3 months ago had a $1900 bill because i sucked up water. and how do u drive around a flooded 2 lane road at night in the dark???? i dont think manning up is just getting it. i think the guy is smart. cause after all that i have been thinking about selling my v2 for a short ram. and it does really rain that bad here. its raining right now. and has been every afternoon for 3 weeks. we get flash storms and the water has nowhere to go.

What he is saying is is that the water would have to be just about as deep as your headlights to hydrolock your motor. Dont worry about it, USE your head if the road is flooded and go a different way. You will be fine with a CAI in florida.

For the orlando folks its not the drains that get flooded. Its poor drain locations. The water can't get to the drain fast enough for it floods easy. I'm still iffy on the coldair intake. If I'm the first guy to chop a coldair pipe in half then so be it.

it happens.. but who in their right mind would try to drive in it?
city is supposed to close roads when all lanes are flooded..

Why bother having one then? There are TON's of florida members that have CAIs with no issues ever.

I am gonna get a cold air. I was just seeing if anyone in florida has had any hydrolock problems. Question-What is the aem bypass valve? I've seen it but never really knew what it's purpose was.

It is a bypass valve that is supposed to allow air to be drawn in higher up so if the filter is completely submerged you dont hydrolock your motor. Its not worth it. Quit worrying about what has happened to a few. Its not a common thing. The biggest cause of it is stupidity. Dont drive into flooded streets

i agree with jterrorc I would never drive through water like that, it's a sports car not a boat or a hovercraft I baby my TL-S and the way I have my sri I don't worry about heat and if you think about it, it really doesn't matter unless you are racing you TL

Buy a 3 inch Injen SRI for an Accord and modify it.
...or a Volant SRI, which is plastic resin so it may help with heat sink?
then, grab a Injen hydro-shield filter cover to repel light water. You should be good for the same conditions as the video... I use an SRI myself.
