Lightbulb Scion xb reverse light conversion??

Ok i have tinted tails damn i hate them now that i do alot of night driving. When i reverse you see nothing. Last nite i wired up my oem big block hid kit that i had sitting around so i did my driver side tail. Everything works but i still can't really see much in the car but if i step out i see pretty good. Well i was fooling around with a heavy duty spot light i took the top off and put the hid bulb into it then aim it at the sky then powered on...WOW damn that light was crazy bright. Do you think something like this will look good on my tl bumper? Minus the ghetto flash light lol i will make it look just like the pic below using a xb light or what ever would flow with the tl bumper better.

If not i was planing no doing tonys led upper brake light mod and with the oem 3rd brake light maybe i can clear it and put a projector in it like a fog light projector. So when i reverse my 3rd brake light would light a vertical beam for me to see and good thing i will only need 1 hid..

Advice on my ideas please... what do you think? just really need to come up with something. Thanks.

Drive forward instead?? Lol no that's not nice I'm kidding. Is it really that dim when you're in reverse?? I just always assumed the lights were so others could see you backing up. In the city there's so much light I've never needed them to actually see behind me unless I'm backing into my garage to do some work.

Sounds like your rear window tint is too dark. Throw in HID reverse lights, open your window, and stick your head out when reversing.

You can either use HID reverse lights mentioned above or actually hook up a white led strip to the bottom of your bumper to keep it hidden. LEDS are actually pretty damn bright if you have alot of them.

Something like what this truck/car did.

Never understood the whole HID reverse light thing. That constant on/off would be horrible for the ballast.

OP if I were you, I'd lighten my rear window tint. What % is it at now?

Theres regular ballast for headlights and then ballast's made for reverse HIDS, they run @ 15w's so they're fine.
