Where to begin lol, k so I just recently bought a 99 tl with shifting problems -_- yes I know I shouldn't have bought it my brothers told me not to but I had too, I was recovering from a real bad wreck in a previous acura 99 tl, rolled 5 times and no seatbelt and still survived so when I saw one real cheap I had to get it, I had to tow it home after driving it for a bit it wouldn't accelerate any more I could only guess the tranny was finished and towed it home, I've been lookin relentlessly at junkyards for a 99 model tranny but all are gone and been waiting every day rechecking them but nothing so I figured I'd ask if there's any other model I could take the tranny from?? I'm not with much cash that's why I'm going junkyard I noticed a lot of people sayin they put 6 speeds in there 99 but had to change a lot of gauges and ecu's Etc, seems a lot of work, I'm only planning to use it as a weekend drive car so don see the need to upgrade it too much, but any info on other models or the 6 speed tranny swap is appreciated also if price quotes could be included would be greatly appreciated, just started so I can't receive pm's but u can reach me at my email at jorgevasquez40@yahoo.com

 

Check the DIY section there are a number of threads for 6apd swaps. I'm not sure which other model automatic transmission can be swapped into you're 99. Do you have any check engine lights or anything? The 99s had a much more reliable transmission than the rest of us with 5 speeds

 

That's another problem lol, cluster doesn't work All codes are on, seller said supposedly due to nav being stolen, bought another one from a 02 at junkyard but some wires colors don match although there's a total of 16 wires on each side, about the 5 speed I didn't know that I heard only the 99 and 00 series were hit with bad trannys, this car only had 132k and tranny is shot my other 99 was starting to have late shift problems on it at 135 k but that's honestly probably cause how I drove it

 

did i mention nav doesnt apear to really have been stolen other than main nav cords cut but theres not bezel damage and also the hdd in trunk was taken out im sure the nitwit who stole it would not have know to take the trunk one too

 

98-02 accord v6 trans is the same.

 

Are they four speed or five speed?
