u want to install a fuel cut defender so that u can raise the point of where the fuel cuts off?

i dont know any thing about that, but would mess around where the fuel cuts off.

how much more would you want to raise it. i dont know how much our engine could go up to. the rev limited is there for a reason. it dont think reving past 7000 rpm and higher is too good.

The red line of our cars are set at the optimal setting there shouldn't be any reason why you would want to raise the red line. Unless you had some bored out motor that was fully built you would maybe want to raise it but if your motor is pretty much stock then I wouldn't touch it.

it does seem like it would make more power at say 7500 rpm if it continues the power band from the 6800 dyno you had. but no one really knows if it does cus no one has reved that high, or have they? but it also makes scene that maybe power starts to drop off and thats why acura set the rev limit there. our engines do fell like they could rev higher but above 7 seems kinda high for a v6.

o ok then its pointless to raise the red line unless you were turbo or had a really good tune.

whats the cut off for a TL-p? i think its stock rating was 225hp at 5600 rpm. and the type-s is 260hp at 6200 rpm. cus im my TL-p it fells strong until 6800rpm.

iv read it in more than one write up thats its 225 at 5600. but it sure dont seem right, so im guessing 6500 ish. which seem to be the best place to shift.

this what Consumer Guide says

Type..... dohc v6
Size..... 3.2/196
HP..... 225@5600
Torque..... 226@4700

type-s is

Type..... dohc v6
Size..... 3.2/196
HP..... 260@6100
Torque..... 232@3500

what i also find weird is that they rated the TL-p zero to 60 test at 8 sec which is little on the slow side i think (should be 7.5ish). And they rated the Type-s at 6.8 sec which seems about right for 100% stock.

out of a scale of 1-10 the TL-p gets a 6 in acceleration and a 7 in handling.
the Type-s gets a 7 in acceleration and an 8 in handing.

a corvette would score a 10 in each.

and they also say the 2002 RL is 225hp at 5200 rpm. 2002 rsx type-s is 200 hp at 7400 rpm and 2002 NSX is 290hp at 7100 rpm.

so your saying that the drop off is different to the wheels than the crank and thats why it cant be 5600 rpm.

Our cars are SOHC.

I doubt that that would work on ours to raise the redline. Not to mention there would be NO benefits to raising it, especially in its current setup and tune.

No hes saying those HP numbers are rated at the crank, and not to the wheels. (the TL-P typically dynos in the 180 range at the wheels)

6.8 is slow for the type-s. Ive seen some tests report 6.1-6.2. And my car with mods, does a 5.7

yea i know, Consumer Guild is good for a lot of info on the car but i wouldn't rely on them some of there performance test.
when i was 100% stock TL-p i timed a 7.5 sec 0-60
with a cold air intake i timed my TL-p 7.0 sec 0-60. and that was with wheel spin on launch. i think with a little practice i could get under 7 sec.
yea 8 sec for the TL-p and 6.8 for the type-s is wrong. bad Consumer Guild.

a DOHC J32 would be pretty bad ass..... well with all the mods i have on the TLS im sure i can run under 6sec. it feels just slightly slower then my IS350 which can easily run with E46 M3 or the new 335i. (i've raced them before)
