question on brake pads

can you have HPS hawk pads on a 2002 tl type s with a none slotted rotor?

I guess the real question is why would you upgrade just your pads and not your rotors?

The OEM rotors are really not that great for the TL, I believe most here would suggest upgrading your rotors if you are having issues with your brakes. The pads themselves are pretty good - but I believe you will get "more" out of it by also changing your rotors.

Improving only the pads may adversely impact your OEM rotors.

I am assuming you mean 'non-slotted rotor' here.

Thanks for the help guys, What rotors are the best for an 02 TL Type S? How much would they go for and which is the best place to get them?

Best Rotors? Subjective here - most seem to go with Rotora Slotted Rotors - I beleive there is a GB (Group Buy) in the OFF TOPIC section for these, I do have these on my mine and after 40K they are still doing great.

Rotora BBK and slotted rotors in the rear with HP Plus track pads here. I fucking love them. They are so good that my ATE Super Blue DOT 5.1 brake fluid boils before the brakes themselves can even start fading.

Rotora = best bang for the buck
