Prototype Racing Equal Length Headers
Many of you older members might remember this or have seen this.
I've seen them on their website.
Sadly, it was a production flop and couldn't get them mass produced (sorry to get your hopes up.
)
i was browsing on another forums and a member just recently got his.
if you guys who haven't seen it and wanna read up on it..

Yes I am one of the 3 people that have these headers and they are wonderful. I have had them for a total of a month; I had to send them to get the collectors repaired as they were leaking. But any who. The car pulls harder from launch and when the Vtec kicks in its like a shot of nitrous now. It’s amazing. It’s a shame that these will probably never make it production as these things perform as well they look.

Wow, the gains from those over the Comptechs are great, especially in the lower RPMs. Too bad we'll never see them. Did the new owner email that Edmun guy listed on the website and that's how he got a set?

^ um..
Thanks guys for the complements. I was able to snag these headers from Edmun Laurea at Opak Racing, he and Joe McCarthy of Prototype Racing were in buissness together to get them into production about 3 or 4 years ago. But the deal fell through with the manufacturer. There were only about 3 or 4 prototypes sets made and I got the last one Edmun had. I dont believe they will ever make to production beacuse the manufacturer that was chosen was shady and closed shop with jigs, plans, money etc. Needless to say both men are soar about this situation as they both lost major $$$$

imagine cutting off the 2-1 merge near the cat and just going full true dual..
then go FI...
i remember these....impressive
As for the Comptechs being $1200, its a joke. IMO comptech is just another greedy company at this point. These equal length headers should have ran $1200, comptechs no more than $600 on a bad day. But thats just my look on it

but yet they're the only carb legal header out there... reason why their stuff costs so much more; they pay to get them carb'd. look up how much it costs to get a product carb legal first.....
i been thinking abotu askign richie to make some.
but he says us 2nd gen guys are cheap. i agree to a ceartain extent. but if he can make a jpipe and sell it for what he does to the 3g's, i dont see why he couldnt make these and sell them for maybe 300?

that headers are crazy! its like a 6 into 1. what is funny is usually equal length headers make power on the top end. these lose power on the top end. But the power is in the more usable rpm range which i dont mind. did anyone try emailing the guy with the specs for these? it would be a great option to choose from. I hate the options we have as far as comptech, megan, obx, and the other generic stuff. Im in the market for new headers. the megan ones are not holding there spec to much for me any more.
i dunno if im putting any more performance mods on my car... even though i only have cai and catback lol. if only i had a 6 speed... and the internship i got at a shop is unpaid so im not on the list lol...
