No more radar wires!!

well i posted the pics backwards....start lookin at the pics from the bottom...

since the DIY didnt have pics i posted these for reference excuse some of the blur...these wires are tiny...and frustrating

radar works good...not perfect because it sometimes randomly turn off den rite back on.... (connection not tightly secured enough)

so as it turned out.... i didnt use the wire that the navi came with....i used a house usb one...never checked it to see if it was good...assuming it would work...i connected n nothing happen...so i tried with car one ..n nothing....i think i fried it...idk ima open it up n see whats wrong...so beware....use those autostore quick fuse insert to do the testing....as to not damage anything like i did

slip the plastic back in and make sure its working properly..

now tape radars wire with mirrors wire as to somewhat hold it in place..

slip the wire into the corresponding slot....(the one that work when u tested it)

i spliced my radar n my portable navi

open this lil plastic piece so you can see what you are doing..

test....as you see its retarded.. car lightest gray wire with radars white...and cars black with red...it turns on...we good

splice your wires

first take off the four screws: 2 inside the map light and 2 inside the eyeglass holder..

the blue connectors is what you need....jus pull out the red rivet its attached to

nice diy, though i like gps's on the bottom left of the windshield so it only blocks my view of the a pillar and hood. i've seen people glue a plate onto the dotted matrix behind the rearview and suction their radar detector on there so it sits to the top left of the rearview.
