New suspension

So I bought my car not knowing anything about it. Pretty bad, and I found out that my car was lowered by cut springs. The tires aren't aligned, and there has been wearing on the inside of the tires, which gave me a flat and 2 bills short from buying two new tires.

I was wondering...

What should I do to fix up my suspension?

I went to a local body shop that was recommended by my friend called sinful enhancement. They seem pretty reputable and they've had show cars that have been on the cover of magazines.

But the guy recommended that probably the best would be to get coil overs and new shocks. He recommended his supplier tanabe.
He suggested not to get springs cuz I'm going to need to get new shocks and struts and readjustments constantly, which will end up costing more than the coilovers.

On the site, there are skunk2 coilovers for 329 and tein for 729. Are the tein worth it? Also there are toniko shocks for 359. He said he could get 10% off, but I was wondering if I could find other alternatives for cheaper without sacrificing too much on the quality.

Also I needed to get my bumper painted because of some paint damage from oxidation i guess, and he was charging about 450... for this. Is this a good deal?

Oh and he said that the fog lights for 00 must be custom, no jdm. And you would have to change the bumper and hood. Any alternatives?

you either need new springs or get a coilover sys. Since you have to take the strut off anyways to get the spring out so you might as well do it all at once. Tenable = garbage

go comptech, tein or H&R springs w/ good shocks (ITS TOKICO btw = good). tien basic coilovers probably cost just as much as having to buy springs and shocks and are worth every penny. i just installed nex ss coilovers 3days ago.

99-01 came with fogholes yet no foglights... (honda inspire) jdm bumper has foglights but good luck trying to import one for less than $150000! $450 to do your front bumper is a decent deal if the people doing the job are a reputable shop/dealer/dealer associated imo.

I guess you bought your car from a 16 year old asian kid.

You NEED to buy new springs and probably shocks asap or coilovers. If you got shocks/springs, why would you need constant readjustment? That guy is just trying to sell you on something more expensive.

I would suggest a H&R spring/Tokico shock combo for a good value set up. You can always get adjustable shocks. Or if you have the money get Tein coilovers.

Naw it was from like a 25 year old asian guy...

Tokico shocks ~$300?
H & R springs ~ $200?
Tein coilovers ~ $700?

Are those about the prices? I think that I would like to go for the springs then to save money. Doubt I'll want to change the height or stiffness much, so I guess that it's worth it to save $500.
I was also told that I need the camber kit. But then the body shop said that I can get a camber mold or something that would be permanent and cost 250 if I wasn't going to change my tires/rims, which I won't change. This would stop the uneven wear on the tires.

sounds about right. but you have to add shipping and handling to the H&R springs and tokico shocks. ebay teins have free s&h. tein basic coilovers are worth the extra $100-150 no doubt. look into it.

The coilovers cost about 750. I think I'd also need to buy new shocks too... So I doubt that the price seems reasonable.

I found some Tokico Illumina Adjustable Shock Absorbers for 112.54 each. Times four, its about $450 at http://importrp.com/home.php?cat=70

HR sport springs for $240 at http://importrp.com/home.php?cat=72.

Are these good deals? If not, any suggestions as to where else to buy them from, or any better alternatives with better pricing or better quality?

I was wondering if I will get any rubbing with 245/40/18 tires on my car with a 1.75 drop?
Also is it better if I get a matching spring/shock set from the same supplier?
Thanks.

The non adjustable HP tokicos will actually cost about 300. I don't think that I need to adjust them do I? Also any input on the price for installation?

you can find a set of h&r spring used on the forum for like 120$ shipped..or a complete teinSS setup for like 600+ship.. tire size on 18 in is 225/40-18 .. 235 or more will rub.. suspension setup is question of taste.. do some research on the forum.. !

For a set of Tein S-Tech Springs and Tokico HP shocks I found a price of $562.00 shipped to your door, which doesn't seem too bad..

And as for the other option, Tein basic coilovers are $713.00 shipped, both of these prices from the same site that I usually go through.

Just wanted to put this info out there in case it is of help to you guys deciding between both options. Take it easy~
