I want to cut out mufflers by spring. Would it be more beneficial to just cut out the mid muffler? or cut out the back two? or all three? need some input, thanks

 

It's easy to unbolt the rear mufflers at the flanges and then remove them to see if ya like the sound. If ya do, fabricate some pipes and tips.

The mid muffler delete won't make alot of difference in sound unless ya do something with the rear mufflers, so try that first.

 

removing the mid muffler keeps it the same as stock at idle pretty much but when you hit the gas you notice the difference it sounds beefier, its the way the exhaust should've came without the mid muffler. Removing the rear mufflers is going to make it a lot louder and needless to say a car with no muffler/mufflers just doesn't look right.

IDK what GIL is talking about, but I get plenty compliments on my lame setup. Car isn't super loud, only when in vtec does it really make a lot of noise. while cruising cabin noise isn't much, but like a lot of exhaust mods, around 2.5k-3k rpm is when it's also pretty loud.

 

If the rust allows I failed on my first attempt last time, gonna cut the bolts off.

 

Im saying its loud compared to the mid muffler delete alone, plus everybody has their own opinion on the look. I couldn't stand to see those pipes hang out so far past the bumper, looks like a hot rod.

 

HairyMonkey19, is the only thing done to your exhaust the rear mufflers cut out? I wanna know if that's what mine will sound like

SOUNDS pretty good and I'm sure you get compliments but after they go to the rear of the car and SEE those long ass pipes I'm sure in their minds they take those compliments right back

thing only thing ive done to my TL is a sri, i bought 2 2 1/4 x 24 pipes yesterday, had advanced auto parts order me a couple tips, ill try to post pictures when the work is done!
