Mid Muffler delete

I called a local shop and they wanted $125 to remove the mid muffler and replace with straight piping. They asked me if I had the replacement pipe or not.

Do you think it would be cheaper for me to buy the pipe to replace and bring it to them? If so, what size is the pipe?

That is the setup, and yes, they are bolt-on. You can also find them on eBay. In fact, I saw them for $79 ea. including shipping.

Hard to tell from the video, but that setup might also include either CAI or intake resonator delete. That might be contributing to the overall sound.

NOT TRUE!!! those are the tsudo universals. don't get those. they are not direct bolt on and you will more than likely need an exhaust shop to do it.

Good point. I did not notice that. The Tsudo's are probably the best muffler value for these cars. I only wish the exhaust tips were a little smaller. They are flared out to 4", but I would prefer tips a little more inconspicuous.

i went to a shop today and they wanted $60 to just take out the mid muffler and replace with a straight pipe. i told a buddy of mine who works at the community college auto shop and he said he'll do it for free.
does deleting the mid muffler (but keeping the resonator) really have much of an affect on sound?

I did the mid muffler delete about a month ago and so far I love it. With that thing gone the car has a G35/37ish sound. I have a SRI also that helps add to that overall beefy sound.

what does the Magnaflow resonator do for your car? I was planning on replacing the oem cat with a magnaflow cat, then installing magnaflow muffler pt.# 10445 and straight pipes to the back with tips. would this sound good:>

that will be extremely loud. i would do the cat and resonator then delete the mid muffler and keep the stock mufflers and it'll sound good.
