i tried to search for this but M5 and lip are both too short to search for. I want to get the m5 spoiler. i have 3 questions: what is the proper length for an 03 tls, how much was it to paint, and also are there different versions?

Were you checking on ebay? Sorry I can't answer your other questions... what about the M3 spoiler there are plenty of them available.

Btw, which spoiler? front lip, trunk?

 

i mean the lip spoiler for the trunk. isnt there a diffference with the m3 and m5 sizes? i was looking on ebay but they never say what size they are, and they list a million cars on the description.

 

Oh ok, i haven't seen one that is described for the TL. I figured that the M5 one would be too wide..? But I'm not sure, maybe someone with more knowledge will post something.

Then, on ebay I didn't see any actual pictures for the M5 spoiler. With a little more research I might be able to help you find out the widths and see if it'll fit the TL.

 

m5 is what you want. i got one for sale painted SSM if you like!

 

I got my off ebay like $43 and get it painted for $60. I sand parting lines and smooth out all the dents and bumps off very nice before I took it to the body shop....cuz for $60, they will just paint it over...

 

I got mine on eBay for $70 (painted) from Xenon-Specialist. Check this ebay item number 8008497719. It is what I got.

i found mine in black market section. flawless. M5 spoiler is just an inch longer than the M3. none of them reach the full length of the trunk

wow. my friend bought a M5 spoiler off ebay and it didnt quite reach the edge. umm maybe we didnt search thorouhgly . is that the real thing or replica ?

 

interestingly enough, that ebay spoiler is not factory spec. the length of a TL trunk is just about 48 inches. if you refer to www.c-c-c.net (official vendor), they state the m3 spoiler as 46" and m5 spoiler as 47". So while the "ebay" spoiler fits, it is not truly an m5 or m5 style lip spoiler.

 

Yes, you are right, this is just a custom made trunk lip spoiler for 99-03 TL.
imo, this spoiler looks and fits much better than M3/M5 one on our TLs.

 

on ebay they have one that is 47" and change. i assume that the best one to get to reach as far as possible. does anyone have a pic of the ebay one installed? btw vincentliwf.... looks great.
