Lip Kit Find

Hey guys. I found an OEM lip kit for sale locally. The problem is its black and the front lip has a crack in it. I went to a shop today for a price on fixing and painting the kit NGM and he said $350 to paint and another $50-$100 to fix the crack depending on how bad it is. The guy with the kit says its not too bad so I'm gonna say $400 for paint and fix. But then the guy wants $275 for the kit. If I can get him down to $250 Ill be $650ish all in. What do you guys think? Should I jump on it or wait for somehting else to turn up?

If you have a 99-01 I say buy it. They're very hard to find if it IS indeed an oem set. I paid 185 for an oem front lip so his price isn't terrible.

650 all in for an OEM kit is a bargain these days.

I got the hard part done and found the front lip. Now to search down some side skirts and rear lip by summertime! I think finding a 99-01 front lip is equivalent to catching Bigfoot lol.

Really?? But aren't the 99-03 sides and rear the same and front lip the only difference between the two??

Yes they are the same sides an rear, the front is different. The rear you could go with west wings and possibly the sides as well. The front you want to be oem because it takes the most damage

I get the feeling fstty meant that finding a 99-01 front lip is harder than finding bigfoot

check out any oem acura parts dealer. If you just google "OEM Acura Parts" theres quite a few links that pop up. When you find one just search "spoiler" in the website and side skirts and rear lips should all come up in any colour. I did this on one of these websites and for the rear and sides, painted and shipped to my door it said $621. So ya, I'm pretty happy with my find

Also, the OEM 99-01 front lip is the only one that exists that looks like it right? Like all the "replicas" I found were replicas of the 02-03 lip, made to fit 99-01. Correct me if I'm wrong but if it looks OEM then it has to be as far as the front lip goes right? Hope that makkes sense lol

Oem gonna have all the screw and clip holes and won't need anything at all to go on. Should just pop on add screws and push pins and done. To me it's worth it to not have to do any fiberglass or bondo work to fit it. Arriving painted would just be an extra bonus. WDP is a 3 stage paint so they like to rape on prices around here it seems.

Here's the crack in the front lip

Heres the rear piece. Little bend in it but shouldn't be a problem.

Hey Tuggernaut, a good find for the money !

So, you stated earlier about $621 for a kit painted & shipped, was that actual "OEM" ?

Anyways, with the existing damage, if ya can't repair it yourself.....check around for the best price.
If ya could get it fixed, painted and installed for $2-300, ya got a deal !

Mine came Friday and I was very happy. It's a legit oem front lip with just some minor scraping on the very bottom of it. I just gotta sand and fill the scrapes then get it painted an I'll be winning!

hey 3.2TLC, the "kit" that I found for $621 was actually just the sides and rear lip. No front lip. And I was quoted $350 for paint and another $50 to fix the crack. So I'm at $400 which I think is a good deal. And I'll install it myself. I don't think I'd ever find anyone to do it all for $300 or less unless he was a friend. But unfortunately I don't have any friends in the auto body world.

And that sounds like a good find Dave, nice!
