JVT Headers

JVT Headers
If my XS order takes a whole lot longer because of them being on backorder, I may pull the trigger on these. I googled them and read reviews and did not find a SINGLE bad review. (even on the BMW forums)
MSRP is $379, but erzperformance.com has them for $189.

I got back-ordered from ssautochrome also. I ended up getting something similar to the one you pictured from a brand called top speed for $110 shipped. I used new acura manifold gaskets instead of the ones they supplied and heat wrap the flex points. So far after a couple of days no issues.

I wonder if that extra flex pipe would cause any interuption in air for a hp loss.
The thing that got me, was on the BMW forums they go over quite well. Those guys are more picky than we are! lol

Just keep in mind that you will have to install it first, then splice in the section of pipe if you expect it to fit. If you are going that far, you should heat cycle the headers a few times to let them settle into shape. As long as you're doing that you might as well wait and see if they even make noise. I've had to weld in flex sections to eliminate noise, but typically it's done with headers because it's cheaper than holding tolerances that would allow them to fit properly.

I have these headers and they don't fit right. I'm just waiting till I can find something else to replace them. I had a post on them about a month ago. I figured out what was making the noise I have. The flange on the front side don't seal right and the gaskets keep blowing out.
They never did fit right though. I had to pull them hard with all the other bolts loose when I was trying to get the flange on the cat bolts. The pipe needed another good inch at least.

I know it's hit or miss, but I have XSPs and believe fsttyms1 does as well. Mine have been on 2yrs without any problems. If you go the cheap route, I suggest you have them ceramic coated (Jet Hot or similar) It'll help a little more with the performance, but it will also help with the integrity a bit as well.
Oh, and buy slightly longer bolts (stainless steel while you're at it) for the header to pipe and such. It'll make it easier to bolt up.

im not one to go through the trouble of returning items and such.. i want to know what im buying wil work with no hassle..
in this case its a 700 dollar difference so i might look more into the XS's for money's sake..
on a second note.. the ceramic ones in my experience have had didnt hold up and flaked off and rusted over time... i think i may finally go with stainless steel and wrap them..

normally i would go the cheaper route... because bad reviews arent in high numbers.. however.. it seems about 50/50 with XS's

Besides Jet Hot, there are many local specialty shops, you just have to search in your area for one. Here's another expample.
