Just installed the AEM SRI!

Myself and my buddy did it this afternoon. It was plug and play, but when we found out there was a freaking mini radiator in the bottom of the airbox, we were like WTF? After figuring out what to do with the coolant hose, we finished it up and took it for a test drive. The growl sound above 4000rpm it makes it absolutely ridiculous. I didnt think it was going to be that noticeable. I had an intake on my 4.0 wrangler, but it is a joke compared to what it did to this car. The best part is that it sounds totally stock until you open it up. I like the sleeper aspect. After 4000, it sounds absurdly awesome. I know I sound giddy, but it is the first mod on the TL for me. What do you expect?

Now I have the OEM body kit and M5 trunk lip sitting in the house waiting for the spring to come around......

kinda off topic but does injen or aem make intakes that are both sri and cai, like the original intake is a sri but comes with a extra pipe that attaches to make the intake a cai

congrats on your first mod. It wont stop there. Just wait until you start feeling the extraa power, it usually takes a day or two for the computer to adjust to the extra air flow.

i was also blown away when i installed my SRI.....shit sounds like a v8 beast at vtec.

i chose SRI for two reasons

1. cheaper
2. louder

i dont really care about the 2 or 3 horse advantage the CAI has over the SRI...id rather save the 80 bucks

your not making any sense dude

SRI= short ram intake, its half the size of the CAI, meaning that it only draws hot air into it

CAI= longer version that extends to below the engine. Draws cold air from the bottom

what your talking about it someone ghetto rigging a SRI intake, and sticking a tube that extends below the bumper....i never understood this though

Yep, went with the SRI b.c it ois cheaper ($120 shipped), louder (when i want it to be) and I will not ever worry with heavy ass rain (occasional floods outside Philly)

and please dont give me the "rain could never get in" story...my roomate almost hydrolocked his RSX last year

and all that matters is that the SRI is sweet
