Intake Question????

Wazup guys I recently purchase a AEM CAI and i love the sound at when VTEC kicks in. I was wondering is there anything louder than a CAI or anything that kicks in sooner than a CAI?? I hear about these short ram intakes and V2 intakes, what do those do that the CAI doesnt?? please let me know. I really want that sound to kick in sooner when accelarating or maybe even a little louder.

By the way thanks for JOSH from EXCELERATE for a great job and great customer service. Definitely great to deal with

That sound is the motor, not the intake. You cant get it to "kick in" sooner. a shrt ram will be a little louder, but it doesnt make as much hp. (not worth it just for teh little bit of sound)

it allowes a slighlty better amount of air intake. but just alittle more power. as far as i know they dont make it for the type-s.

I thought Hova had a TL-P? V2 is good though. Friend has one on her Accord. Sounds great, but I dont know if the HP gains is that much greater.

I was thinking about these two, and was just waiting to find one used on the black market. The price I got from excelerate new was 225 and 300 for the cai and v2 for new. Do you guys think its worth it to get the V2 over the CAI?

I think the V2 will work just fine on the type-s, i think you just need to cut it shorter up top so that it will fit up to the VSA throttle body. depending on the overall dia you should be able to stretch the hose over the TB if not you could buy the larger one in a parts store

If you want it to kick in quicker you'll need a vtec controller

like everyone said, you cant change when vtec kicked in w/o a controller. the loudest intake you can get will be a shortram. if youre worried that much about sound... get a shortram and a vstack, proven power. and make sure you situate the filter above the hole where the coldair goes... itll kinda feed cool air to the filter from the bumper.

i was gonna get a sri+vs, but i found a used coldair for cheap, so i went with that instead.

you really arnt going to gain that much sound from a sri. if you want sound get a exhuast. or just remove your exhaust resonators. if you just want a little more. the resonators will slightly overpower the intake. the only time i hear my intake is when it is cold.
