Injen SRI

Ok so I'm looking at the IS1660P intake. Every website I go to says it fits the 02-03 BASE TL. I drive a 2000 TL. Will this fit?

It's a waste of money to buy that. All it's going to do is introduce hot ass air to your engine. Get a CAI instead.

if you want a SRI, save your money and buy a cheap ebay intake with a K&N cone filter. it will accomplish the same thing as the Injen SRI.

or spend a little more and get a quality AEM/Injen CAI. for the 2000 TL, most will recommend the AEM V2 CAI.

Ideally I'd go with a V2 but I only really want it for sound so I figured an SRI would be good enough? Also, I've heard that the ebay cais don't always fit, is thaty true?

Hot air in the engine makes those inefficient. Go with the V2.

Ok so the reason I want an SRI are
-Cheaper
-Sound
-Looks cooler
I've heard mixed things about the hot air problem. And what I mean by that is some people consider it a problem, some don't. Will an SRI do damage to my engine from sucking hot air? I'm thinking not but then why else would this be a problem? I'm not interested in HP gains, I could care less. I just want something that will drop in and not give me installation issues, will give me a good sound and not put a huge dent in the pocket. So, i figured the Injen SRI would fit the bill.

Oh ya, and the Injen SRI is like $20 more than the ebay CAI w/K&N cone.

A short ram intake won't damage your engine, it just won't be as efficient as a cold air intake. A cold air intake will run the filter lower to the ground getting you a colder charge of air coming into the engine. If you want sound just get te short ram intake, that's what I did. However now I'm going to upgrade to a cold air intake.

Would you rather drink cold water or hot water?? Your engine is the same with intake air. Give her the best.

ebay has cheap no name brand CAIs too. you could either use the filter that comes with it, or get a nicer one.

I just got some Spyder CAI from a website. It's a small gain but you can tell the difference in performance and you can hear it suck the air in too. When you drive slow you can hear the air sucking in and when you let go of the gas you hear the air stop.

Ok so back to my original question, will the one I posted fit? It says TL-P 02-03 but I have a 00. I was pretty sure the 00 and 02-03 non S engines were the same so it should work right?
