How to run amplifier power wire to battery through firewall (Acura 2003 TL)?

Hi - Thanks for your help in advance.
I have a 2003 TL (4 dr) and I just bought a sub woofer amplifier. I need to run the 12 AWG power wire (Red) to the battery positive terminal in the engine compartment. I have to do this through the firewall from inside of the car to the battery. I prefer NOT to drill a hole through the firewall. I'd appreciate your thoughts/advice.
Thanks,
tham1226.

if ya get on yer knees with a flash light----look under the driver side down by the pedals

you will see a little circle black plug-----its by the gas pedal-----that pops out and u run the power wire through there

thats how i did mine------and i ran the power under all the kick panals too

good luck and let us know how ya made out

Thank you Dan. I found the rubber plug and will work on it this weekend. I think, if I can, I'll drill a hole through the rubber plug and feed the power wire through so the wire will be surrounded by the rubber and not the metal chassis. I will let you know how it works out.

Thanks again,
Tham.

Definitely drill hole or make a small slice. Don't run it through the hole n try and smash Plug back in there. It'll rub through over time n ground it out. A trick to help fish through also is tape the wire with electrical tape to a straightened out metal hanger and help feed it through.

Goodluck!

why a 12 gauge kit, you should runa 4 gauge kit for your 1000 watt, 12 isnt going to provide enough power

02 and 03 should be the same. it's above and to the right of the gas pedal hinge.

thats funny ive done mine the same also the hole is great for sub wire i ran a 0 gauge through it, although i didnt find the rubber from inside what i did was take the splash gaurd off the drivers side and locate it u can see another rubber right next to it with the hood wire feed, easy way to take it off is use a flat head and push it in, i noticed some said don feed it that way but ive had mine like that for a good year and a half and no problems.... good luck

feeding wire

Tape a good 6" to a straight hanger using electrical tape and a wire hanger. Once you make a slit in the grommet you should be able to feed it through.

I got mine through off to the side by fuse panel. It's only 8ga though. I found where the wires were coming in and pushed my wall fish through and pulled it that way. Works great.

^^ I dont understand the question? You mean for the +12v Lead from HU to AMP? If you have an Aftermarket HU is pretty easy..

If you dont and you are still riding the OEM HU there is a +12v Lead on the Subwoofer AMP behind the passenger seats.. Tap it and you have your lead.

U should get a rubber grommet. U dont want to sum how slice open ur 12 guage n short anything. And u should upgrade to at least 4 guage. 12 is ok but if u ever plan on swapping out ur speakers or amps or upgrading, ur not giving enuff juice to fully power it all up. But if u plan on staying within the 600w range, then I guess its fine.

Im not understanding that question neither but if u have aftermarket amp n hu, u just run the remote wire frm hu to the amp. But if u have oem hu with aftermarkert amp then u can power up your amp by by wrapping one end of ur remote wire to the acc fuse. Then run it to the amp then u have power to ur amp. But key to all the wiring is a good ground. Make sure u have a good ground!!

I have an 04 TL 6 speed manual. I'm trying to get power to my new sub and amp. I have no rubber grommets. I do have a white plastic grommet above the gas paddle, but there's metal behind it with what looks like a small post with threads. Any idea how I might get that out to run power cable to the battery?
