High flow cat w header worth it??

I have the typical mods and headers and am considering a RT High Flow Cat. I have done the searches and read a host of posts but I have not seen any definitive first hand experiences concerning acceleration/performance increases.

I understand that there may be a torque loss and that any gains realized are at the top end. My question is will a high flow cat cut my 0-60 or Qmile time by a tenth? The RT's go for a couple hundred and then there is the labor. If I don't around 10hp then it is not worth the $$

Sure would appreciate some first hand experiences with this....

There's no way you'll cut a tenth.

I seriously doubt you'll get 10 hp out of it. 5 at the MOST.

Also, it won't be worth the rasp you will get.

Even if you just got a test pipe, I don't think you would get 10hp.

Thanks K7.....From what I have read a test pipe ruins the exhaust tone.

I believe you gain a tenth in the qtr for every 10 hp you add. As the gains with a high flow are in the upper end of the rev range that would most likely not be case here.

I looked into this too and could not find any dyno #s for the j32. The newer accord guys and The TSX dynos claim/show gains only at the very top of the RPM band and a loss in power through the rest. For the money I don't see it being worth it unless you run boost and race your car. You will make better gains with a cold air intake for much cheaper...why not pick one up if you're looking for more power, plus you can do the install easily. Furthermore, I think a $400 racing cat should have some dyno #'s available to the consumers.

I have DC Sports headers and an excelerate high flow cat. Headers gave a huge gain and the cat didn't do shit except now my exhaust sounds raspy

So a high flow cat can cause you to lose torque?? Is this also true about headers? I'd like a new exhaust mostly for sound reasons but some HP wouldn't be bad either. But if I'd lose torque I'd rather not.

Is switching the piping on a stock exhaust system a difference in anything at all? Just a question
