Final thought

I've come to a conclusion, not to burst anyones bubble or anything but our cars no matter what you do to them with bolt-ons are slow. Our cars have a great powerful V-6 but our cars weigh too much to be fast. Most STOCK cars run low 14's or better today. Our cars with ALL the bolt-ons might run a mid 14. So I think Im going just for handling now. Before I spend money making my 99 TL handle better is it even worth it? My car now has the stock front sway bar and its lowered 2". It still handles like crap. If I get a rear sway bar is it going to make a BIG or small difference? Also I have I/H/E, yeah my car ran a 9.9 in the 1/8 mile at best, what other bolt-on mods do you recommend, only if it will make a difference.

What are you lowered on? I'm on TeinSS with Comptech front and rear sways and when I dial up my Teins to a stiff setting, the car handles very well.

Im on the cheapest Teins, with stock 16' rims 215/50/16. Do you think a rear sway bar will make that big difference? I know I can get the stock rear sway bar that comes on the TL-S or is it the CL-S?

And your car is almost 10 years old. In the day they were on top of the game. They are by no means slow. They are still quite a bit quicker than alot out there with similar hp. Lord knows ive beat just about every thing ive gone against (including a 03, 350z that my friend has) so i wouldnt say they are slow. (yea i know mines not a normal TL, but even before hand it was no slouch)

I dont think a TL is slow at all. for a daily and city driving it pulls hard and it is quick when it needs to be. and it is a 10 year old car so you cant expect the same performance as the newer cars who can get much more HP from the same engine. older technology. and its a family car thats fully loaded compared to other cars in which everything was an option so in my opinion this car shouldnt even be seen on a track. if you are looking for a quick track car then you got a wrong car. just an opinion

Actually on a road course the car is a great car. It handles phenomenally well and will hold its own and more against much newer cars that are better suited.

oh I ment WHY would you get a TL and do something like that. then get a lighter car and do it proper, and not in a family sedan.

Get the full set of sway bars, 18" lightweight rims, wide and sticky highest performance summer tires, lowering springs, adjustable shocks, and the car will take corners as if on rail.

pulley will free up some hp and the rpms will climb faster. bolt up a supercharger. or nitrous could also be a bolt on mod (well for me it was)

crank pulley to accellerate harder
remove lower intake resonator FREE!
225 18 tires I like my General Exclaim UHP as a good sticky tire that will do most anything at a bargain price
Cusco Lower front frame crossbar and upper strut crossbar- makes the frame and suspension stop flexing like recyled beer cans (thats the TLs next life)
Well just read my sig- my baby has most of the popular mods that are not the cost of a blower

Speak for yourself lol. You have a '99, so try the Type-S. The TL-S runs mid to low 14s stock.
