I just finished my type s swap but the car will not start with the type s ecu. Then if I put my tl-p ecu in it runs. Is the type s ecu broken or do I have to take it to honda to get it reflashed?

 

Yeah, I think it has to be re-flashed...Not the exact wording that I remember reading about, but they have to like re-key or something

 

It has an Immobilizer. Get it rekeyed via dealership or if you think you can tackle the job, remove the chip yourself inside the ECU.

 

^what he said, take it to the dealer with the tl-p ecu, tell them what you did and that you need your key reprogrammed to your type s ecu and let them do the rest

haha, parts searching is fun. only things i need now are flywheel and clutch (and clutch lines) and motor mounts and i'm ready to go. just haven't bought all that stuff cause it warmed up and i needed landscaping tools :-/

 

Yes, I desperately need a drop...If I decide to go through with the swap I will prob just get some springs and call it a day. And yeah, I too will be doing the work myself with some help from a few buddies...

Hell yeah! I'm looking at late this year, depending on funds....I'm 17, trying to get jobs, I do detailing and I am looking for something else as well, and I have to pay insurance every month and gas...So I am aiming for later in the year.

I have a feeling we will meet un-expectantly at a some junkyards and duke it out for some of those hard to find parts...
