3/8 inch inner diameter should be ok. i think that's what i have as well, even though the real size you need is 5/16" IIRC. 3/8 worked fine for me tho, just a little noisier.

after you do the waiting, you start up the car...it'll run poorly for a moment and there will be a lot of smoke. after about 5-10 seconds go drive hard. keep it in one gear (by using the sequential sportshift/tiptronic/manual shifting) and yes, keep the revs high. i held it between 4k-5k rpm for 15 mins with no problems....just don't redline it and you'll be fine.

What gear were you in when you did the 4k-5k for 15 mins ?

I've never used the tiptronic before because I dont know how, how do I ?

it doesn't matter all that much what gear you're in as long as you don't exceed the speed limit. i was in a neighborhood so i kept it in 1st.

how to use tiptronic...when in D4 (or D5, depending on what year your car is) move the shifter to the left, then a number will appear in your tachometer, that's the gear you're in, there's a + and - in the shift gate, push the shifter toward the + to upshift and - to downshift...

I just did a 1/2 can into the VAC line and it took about 15-20 mins, I then waited 12 mins to start the car and it started up fine. I went for a drive on 2nd gear at 4K rpm for a bit then slow down and did it again for 15-20 mins. I didnt see much smoke, did I do something wrong ?

Some smoke came out but not as much as that and not long, maybe because it was windy when I did mines. I did half a can, going to do the other half in acouple of days when its better weather because of this poor result (IMO).

You're going to rev your car to 4k for 15 - 20 minutes?!?!?

Just drive it. The instructions are tried and true; no need to go mucking around with something simple.

methinks the load on the engine will help it heat up more and burn off more deposits than just revving it, plus better for cooling than 0mph

Did mine this weekend. Plenty of smoke and funny looks from people... Thanks ok...

Used the full can and let it sit.
Rough start, but it turned and away I went...

Seems much smoother now!

I just did the other half can in the VAC line and got *some* smoke half way through, waited 15 mins then started and revved to 4k rpm and had little smoke then thats it. Went for a drive at 4k down the highway and no smoke. Can it be because I only used half can ?

When you do the fuel tank you dont have to do the vac line right?? Also if you put a whole can in a 1/4 tank of gas doesnt the car eventually run out of gas, then will it run on seafoam?? And should i replace the spark plugs after the fuel tank run or the vac run if i do it at different times?? Lol sorry for all the questions

Do both fuel tank and vac line.
The seafoam mixes with the gas in your tank, I don't even know what to say to this one.
Replace spark plugs after/if you put seafoam in the oil.

Did you even read the DIY?

you don't need to change the spark plugs if you put foam in the oil, but you do need to change oil and filter.

no need for spark plug change unless:

you're due for them anyway
you don't do the burnoff drive properly, leaving crud on the plugs

Why does the car choke when I disconnect the hose while the car is on ? feels like someone is revving then stopping then revving again constantly.

it's normal because the hose you are disconnecting carries so much vacuum. disrupting that (as you do by disconnecting the hose) causes the "choking" you experienced.

so i read ur suppose to do another seafoam run after like 2000 miles, should i switch out my spark plugs after the first run or the second one 2000 miles later. I'm due for a spark plug change, or does it not really matter at all when i change it

quick question, do you have to do the oil treatment the sametime you do the rest, or can the oil treatment wait until before you head in for your next change?

Is this the correct and up to date method for crankcase?

"Use a whole can in the crankcase (pour into oil fill). Get an oil change after a MINIMUM of 30 miles/50 kms and MAXIMUM of 100 miles/160 kms."

Is it required that we get a new hose, i know some people said they used funnels, is that alright. Or should i jjust spend the extra bucks and get a hose to use for the seafoam.

or can i just put the seafoam contents in a water bottle and stick the original hose in so i can see it. I remember reading that if the hose gets wet there is a chance that it might swell up and can possibly cause a vacuum leak. Is that true?
