the only way water would get sucked in if the intake was completely submerged in water. dont worry too much about it.

I have ran my cai for over 2 years, I don't have an bypass nor anything. Once again I don't like to drive it over pudles or anywhere where the water is almost to my bumper. I would say if you like/have to drive it in deep water get a bypass. If not I don't see a need.

Bypass is for piece of mind. If you don't drive over in deep puddles of a pond/lake/river, I say you don't need one.

the Injen doesn't go far enough into the front bumper to suck water in

i would worry more about flooding the rest of the car more than the engine.

Splashing watter, puddles, or the filter getting wet wont hurt any thing. The filter has to get submerged to cause damage. That means the car would have to be driven into water thats a foot or more deap for a period of time for water to pull into that area and surround the filter. The Bypas reduces air flow and has been known to break and get sucked into the intake

I was wondering about this issue as well. When it rains here in the CA central valley the streets flood bad. Luckily it doesn't last too long. I guess I won't haul ass through the puddles!
