Cold air intake

I have a cold air intake for my 99 tl but a relative of mine said it will mess up the transmission. Is this true, and if so how do i prevent problems besides leaving it off?

Cold air intake has NOTHING to do with the transmission.

Just make sure it stays clean, otherwise there is nothing to worry about.

a cold air intake is installed so your engine can draw in cold air instead of hot air from directly under the hood. colder air is denser, thereby having more o2 by volume, alllowing for a better burn in the engine and increased hp. it will have no affect on the tran whatsovever

your trans will fail regardless of a cold air intake.
