CAI installation gone wrong?

was at some car shop today..asked him if he sells the hoses and clamps told me he does and told me to pop my hood to see which one it is. he told me that what i have right there is a mess. That the hose can pop out any second and my engine would blow. I took some pictures earlier and give me some feedbacks guys. In the pic its where the hoses connect to the sleeve and 2 clamps. He said it should be metal. When i go on long trip it will pop out and my car will over heat so fast that my engine will blow. that hose and sleeve is aftermarket that came with the CAI.

You are talking about the part with the aem sticker and 2 hose clamps right?
The stock connector from airbox to throttle body is rubber to allow movement with vibration and engine motion
That looks fine, if it comes off for unknown reasons- the intake will get really loud and you will know right away.
Wont blow the motor- thats just intake vac, now if it were to get plugged off and no air went thru...that would be a problem

Wait a minute u mean the vac lines running from the intake or the 2 clamps holding the intake to the throttle body btw if either fell off nutting would happen not good to drive around if the did but no blowing up the engine. FYI dont go back there

That wat i did to my car cuz i took out that metal piece n re ran that hose n did excatly wat i told you and i did that for 5 months promblem free including long trips to pennslyvannia and back plus six flags in nj If you want ill post pics tommorrow of wat it looks like in my car

ohh i cant juts connect that line straight through in? i mean i cant find the real opening to it because its under the engine cover. do i have to take the whole engine cover off? the reason why i didnt connect it straight to the source is because of that engine cover blocking everytyhing. dont know where it leads to.

4 little bolts hold the engine cover on

After looking at the pics again, I see you are talking about the rubber hose that goes under the battery's built in handle and then you see the hose go INSIDE a larger hose.
If thats the case, what you need is a metal adapter fitting with the correct hose size on each end, or a "barbed fitting" that lets you push the hose up a taper.

Find out why its that way, was the hose spliced together? shoved together?

dont drive it if it really is hose inside hose, thats NOT a secure connection in town or trips- doesnt matter. It WILL be a problem if a coolant hose comes off and blows all the coolant out

yea i figured out wat hes talkin bout that is the coolant line i checked this morning if that does fall off that aint good cuz you will slowly lose coolant but from wat i can see in the pic you got the line running into the adapter then back out to the line in the back but u have two metal clamps holding them down so as long as the clamps are secured and holding each end of the hose down you will be fine for now but like i said i just rerouted the most secure way cuz i got one straight hose with no adapter in between. Actually from lookin at your pic you dont even need a new hose. If you take out the clamp nearest to the batter pull the hose out and go to the other side of the engine towards the bottom you can clamp it directly on to the other side. Start from the thrrottle body and follow it to were it ends you see wat i am talkin about ill go take a pic of mine so it can hoepfully help you out

The hose that you have running from the throttle body to the adapter should be long enough disconnect the adappter then disconect the other hose that run to the engine in the 4th picture. Run the hose to how i have it should be long enough if not just go to an auto part store and get a hose that long. Once you rerouted the hose clamp it back on the the engine without the sleeve and then your done. One simple hose with no adapters got any more question message me

Dude its fine it will hold fine. Unless a gorrila jumps perfectly onto that hose I can't imagine it coming off. It has clamps on it. If your really paranoid check it every now and then. But on a side note that is a little ghetto cuz my injen came with a nice little plastic piece that fits both sides of the hose pretty snug. Either way I don't really see that popping off but I might be wrong.

went to kragens earlier today. kragen mechanic came out and took a look..told me it was nothing serious. Like if it does unplug, you will know because alot of smoke will come out. but then he gaves me a new hose aprox 1 feet long for free. and told me to just unplug that and i have to watch out for the coolants. i should let all the air out, etc. got some pictures will post them in a couple of mins.
