Bringing car back to stock?

Hey guys! I'm new to the forums! Here is a little bit of my car's history before I start. This car was just passed down to me recently but I only know a bit about it.

Black 2003 Acura TL-S
Miles: 98xxx and going up
Has been repainted last year
Has been rear ended (water gets into trunk sometimes)

I was wondering, how do bring back my car's hp back up to stock? I feel like it has lost some power. What things could I do to bring it back up?
Also are there problems with the '03 transmission?
THANKS IN ADVANCE

you probably didnt even lose any hp.

keep the car maintained, ie: if something is broke, fix it.

if you havent done simple maintenance, I would start there.
the EGR valve is easy to check
plugs are easy, if they havent been done.
etc.

Welcome JayHTea !!!
Congrats on the TL-S. It's always good to know the previous history. At 98k, the car is due for it's T-belt servicing. Things like the plugs, valve adjustment, EGR and TB intake cleaning may help.

Check the trunk and tail-light gaskets for leakage. About the tranny, that's something that many 2nd gen TL's suffer durability issues. Check out the many threads concerning our problematic tranny's. Some good reading !

Thanks! I don't think I've checked the EGR valve yet but pretty sure the spark plugs are okay.

Thanks! My mechanic told me to replace it around 110k. Is the tranny problem with all years including the 2003?

^Most 2nd gen TL's suffer from problematic trannies.

maintain the tranny, ie: fluid changes often. not sure if you guise have pressure switches, but i'd switch those out as well.

Back to stock? You are not even done breaking it in @98K you haven't lost any HP, The car has what it has... Come back at 300K then you might have lost some HP.

Yeah, other than the basic stuff like plugs and air filter....the common things are cleaning the fuel system/injectors, the TB intake and EGR passageways. How do know it's lost power and what makes ya think that ?

The '03 TL's still had tranny issues. Check if the recall check was performed and if the fluid has ever been changed. If there's no apparent shifting problems, just do a drain & fill using Honda DW1 fluid. May want to replace the filter also.

Hey JayHTea, just chill and relax..... and pray that your tranny is not causing the TL's sluggishness.
