The roof line doesn't matchup properly with the windows to look proper. I wouldn't.

Hey 02Gold_TL, while I must admit that the gold is rather boring......a black roof won't do your TL' body lines any favor. Minor mods such as the window tinting, euro headlamps, smoked tails, black accented custom rims, lower valence "aero kit", and maybe some basic pnistriping.

Dont' paint the roof or the wing until after you've tried some other things. Perhaps the mirrors may look ok in black ? Try facelifting the grille for a new look. Amber fogs ?

lol, this thread.

no such thing as a tl-s lip, it's an OEM front lip..... not many members here would say to only get the front lip, it'll make your car look off.

mud guards look ugly and cut into the paint. if you get the whole oem kit you can't have them on, unless you buy some autozone ones that don't mold onto the body.

pinstripes on a tl.... lol

if you do get a roof spoiler, color matching is the way to go

if you want to experiment with a black roof you can plastidip, but would need an air gun.

or

vinyl, that way you can go back to your good 'ol oem color.

as for yellow tinted fogs.... most here would go against it, but i went with it for the "jdm" look

you should browse the forums more to see what other ppl here have done and experimented with

I'm currently debating the same thing. I'll most likely go the vinyl route bc its cheap and reversible I see what you guys are saying, however "z3Ro" did his car with black roof, hood, grille, and headlights and I really like how it came out. I did my own photoshop of a different members car to see how my plans would look but my photoshop skills are quite limited and thus I still haven't decided. I'll get on the other computer and post my "creation" so you can have a rough idea.

Here's 3 pictures.
The original:

Lowered, Black Roof, Hood, Grille, Headlights, 02 Tails, Rims:

I hope "Tigga's TL" doesn't mind I used his car, it was the best pic I could find of an NGM with an OEM lip kit. That pic's almost 5 years old now though so he's prob not even still around?

lol, you didn't even need to photoshop, there's a member that had his car like that already his username is z3ro, all you had to do was go in the 2g tl photo section select ngm and look thru it

i think he pulled it off well, but as you can tell he has no amber colors showing in his headlights and no yellow fog tint
edit* just noticed op has 02, whereas these pics are of a 99-01

I stand corrected lol
I ment "oem lip kit"

And yea i might just leave it alone..ill just tint it
Put the black housing headlight with the yellow fogs and just slamm it

And thanx for the ideas..

how low do you want to go?

teins are pretty expensive, but if you wanna go really low get ff2's so you can get that adjustable dampening

Ya I've seen z3Ros car, I had mentioned it in my last post. However, I've never seen those pics before. So the reason I did the photoshop was bc I hadn't found a pic of his car in the angle I wanted (roof, hood, all very visible). But thanks for posting those
