Apexi WS2 owners i need your review!
im thinking about getting the apexi WS2 exhaust, the sound clips aernt enough for me. i need to know what the owners have to say about it. Does it sound good at high rpms? low rpm? are you satisfied with it? anything you dont like about it?

well, then go get your ws2 and go dyno before and after..
if it gets as much gains as ATLP then i guess you're right..
i uno, you be the judge...
APEXI
ATLP
ATLP roars throughout RPM... imo, i'd rather have that then have Apexi disappear somewhere in the higher rpm...

so how is installation for the ATLP. im might just get it. Im just a dumb 17 year old injun and i dont know much about cars. Im only choosing apexi because the local racing shop only has apexi and will install it for free.
Do you think a begginner can install the ATLP? keep in mind that im a INJUN.

yes you can.. its simple.. its the same as Apexi...
have somebody help you hold up the mufflers while you hand tighten the bolts. then tighten after everything is set..
its easier than installing a cold air and it can't get any easier than that...
you'll need WD40 and 14mm socket with ratchet.. maybe a breaker bar for the rusty ones... with some PBblaster/freeze-off

The weak link in the WS2 is the piping, which is not stainless steel. I replaced the "Y" pipe about 18 months ago, and now both of the lateral pipes (to the mufflers) have corroded through along the top (3" on one side, 6" on the other). I have yet to find an Apexi supplier who will sell replacement components only - they all require the purchase of the complete cat back assembly. So far, I have not found mufflers from another manufacturer that will mate to the Apexi Y pipe, so I am facing another new full cat-back system.
As for stainless steel, note that all stainless steels are not equal; some will corrode, albeit at a less rapid rate than mild steel. The Apexi mufflers on my ride are showing some rust, but are still functional.
Sound is subjective - the Apexi's are louder below 3000 rpm than I prefer, but the motor absolutely sings above that: great throttle response yet quiet, even at overdrive highway velocity.

That exhaust was made for the tl. I love the sound of mine, when the exhaust place put them on, the guy called the rest of the guys in the bay over, they were amazed out how easily it went on, just some welds.

Pics of corrosion will have to wait. If you really want pics of rust, then I'll take them when I pull the system off the car.
We examined the existing WS2 system while the car was on the lift yesterday: Replacing the rotten sections of pipe is ill advised, as more areas of the piping have thinned out and will most likely fail soon. Hence, a new system is the way to go. I could use some help finding a full cat back for the '99 TL-P.
-ATLP~ too expensive to be an option.
-Comptech~ I've found the axle back system, but cannot find a full cat-back system for the TL-P.
-Apexi WS2~ I've found the 116-KH22 for the Type S, but haven't determined if it will fit the non-S TL. Apexi's website does not provide definitive answers.
-Tanabe~ ditto: the TAN-T4078Z (344) is for the Type S.
Help is very much appreciated - please post known part numbers and supplier information. Thanks
