Any way to mod rear defogger?

Howdy again

Just something that's been running through my head. Is there any way to mod the rear defogger so that it heats up faster and hotter?

Not that I'm saying the ones on our TLs suck, mine does an excellent job... after a few minutes... of taking care of whatever's on there. I'm just curious as to what options we might have for either modding the stock one, or putting on a better one.

lol, whaaaaaaat?

I already know it's a rather... odd mod to think about, but if the name of the game is to improve performance of various things in the car, then it's not THAT unreasonable to think about trying to mod the defogger so it does its job faster and better.

Yes you can but you will need a Flux Capacitor and a Mr Fusion to power it.

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYY!! !!!!!!

So seriously, is this really THAT stupid an idea? I've seen some posts from people who complain their rear defogger takes too long to get the job done... maybe theirs are faulty or something, I dunno.

mine works fine.

and seriously you need to back off the whole "planning phase"
youve started like 50 threads in the last few weeks to make your giant list which i have one similar to without making a single thread. become better friends with search and not only search azine but the entire internet. someone somewhere has asked if rear defoggers can work better and theres nothing that special about our tls.

just pick up the car and if theres something you don't like: i.e. the suspension; then get coilovers or get sway bars. if you don't like the sound system; then upgrade it. if you dont like the wheels; then get new ones.

no reason to automatically assume youre reardefogger is crappy and have some uber plan that will fix that problem.

who knows what you'll like in a year when you finally pick up your car and start modding it. hell maybe you wont even get the aspec and want to get something different or keep your current car.
my 2 cents

/end rant

Actually I've searched through each and every subject first before posting about it, both on AZ and through the net.

As for the planning phase, meh, gives me something to do, and I'd rather be prepared earlier than wait later then have to go through the same process. Just my nature

I already know what the car will feel like and look like, which is why I'm looking to mod all these things.

Unless the 03 A-Spec has a better rear defogger than my 02 TL-P for some reason, I know what to expect and was curious to know if mods were possible on it.

Nah, I'll get the A-Spec. It's what I always wanted, but I couldnt' afford it at the time I picked up my current TL and I needed a car, so I was stuck with this.

I'm too impatient :p

Now as I'll want to be putting a 2 way remote starter in the car, does anyone know if it's possible to have the rear defogger start with the remote start? I know it doesn't normally start when you turn on the car, even if it was on last time you shut it off, so if it can be activated remotely, that would be satisfactory solution.

no idea, but now that you mention it i'll fiddle with mine and see how it goes. pretty much every other feature in the car will start when the car comes on

I did find it a little odd you couldn't have the rear defogger set to turn on when you start the car when you can have practically all other features start with the car - even the heated mirrors.

Hmm, seems like a product with some positive reviews... although I was hoping for something that could be built into the car so the process is done automatically.

If it'd be possible to have the rear defogger turn on via a remote starter, that'd be the perfect solution IMO, but I don't know how feasable that is.
