Akebono brake pads

I know some people here hae Akebono ceramic brake pads. I have a quick, simple question for those of you: do you only have the front pads? I can't seem to find the rear pads on tirerack.

Thanks.

I bought both front and rear from www.rockauto.com, I used to be able to google a 5% discount code.

Early TL has semi-metallic pads, Acura switched to ceramic in 01.

1) www.tirerack.com , select 2g Acura TL and you will see a message saying ceramic is recommendated since OEM pads are ceramic
2) www.rockauto.com, select 2g Acura TL, brake pads, you will see Akebono Ceramic ProAct labeled as OE pad
3) https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/fs-various-cls-goodies-104489/
4) There is even people selling OEM ceramic pads in the black market.
5) If you are still not convinced, call Acura parts.

I had no idea my Acura pads were ceramic! I have a 2001. So it's not the pads that suck - it's the rotor? I was hoping for better breaking power by switching to the Akebono's...but if they are identical to stock, I guess i don't really need them until I wear out my stocks.

I have 00, my brake dusts are black so it means pads are semi-metallic. Ceramic pads have yellow dust that do not stick to the wheel as much. Check yours to make sure.
Stock does not mean inferior, Akebono provides OEM pads for Japanese cars for years and their pads are application specific (tuned to car models). They are also noted as the first company to make ceramic pads. See this link

I have very minimal brake dust on the TL. I guess that's a sign they are ceramic. The dust is not yellow - still dark in color, but there's not much sticking to the rims.

So for those of you who have 00 TLs, if you were to bring it in to the dealer for replacement OEM pads, would they supply you with the ceramic ones from 2001+, or the same semi-metallic one (just out of curiousity).
