AEM CAI V2 for Type S??

I am looking to buy aem cai v2 for 03 tl-s. It is only available for non type s cars. Does anyone know the reason for this?
Is there anyone who has successfully put this on their car?

I feel like I am going to be stuck buying the regular one, but if anyone can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.

BTW - this is my first ever mod attempt

because your new i'll spare you. the reason you can't use the V2 is because the TL-P throttle body is smaller than the type S, its pointless to try and put a v2 on your type s. the regular one is just fine

from now on use the Search button for any questions you have, 98% of your questions will be answered that way

Thanks for the replies, that's exactly the information I needed.

Nothing wrong with the regular one, I think I just got caught up in marketing hype.

There is so much info on this site, almost need to take a day off from work to take it all in.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the welcomes! One day is nowhere near enough to take it all in, I am finding that out.

No exhaust or any mods yet. 20% all around and mounted sirius radio in the sunglasses holder. I HATED the idea of dash-mounting and couldn't find anywhere else to put it.

Hopefully there will be more to come in the near future!

Ordered aem, can't wait to put it in!

Might make the trip to chicago for the 4/25 meet, but I'm not sure my bank account would like that.

i have no personal experience but based off my research, the injen and comptech produce more power than the aem for the tl-s.

crazy

especially since its just a pipe and an air filter.

i guess it makes sense considering people here claim the 1k comptech headers produce 10 more hp then the XS headers.. now THAT baffles me...

Pretty much what I was thinking too.

So what I am understanding (from what I have read on most of this forum), is that fujita filter is best for cai, yes?

dc give the guy a break, i know there are all the threads out there already. Some are a bitch to find tho. I hate when people jump all over others for reposting a ? if they have one. Just send him in the right direction or answer it for him. I just dont see why people get pissed. I know you answered him nicely, but I hate it when i get hate posts cause I re-post something. If someone has a ?, I think we should answer it or pass it by.

I in no way was disrespectful, answered his question and told him how to help himself in the future. whats YOUR problem? lol

if anything you should be talkin about grip, i believe he was being a bit condescending.

I halfway expected to be directed to a search page, it's normally the protocol for noobs. To be honest, I had looked around for some time trying to find the answer but there is sooo much information.

Question asked and answered, no disrespect. I found the diy section and my project list has me loaded up with tons of projects.

Thanks again

No I hear you. I guess I read it the wrong way, and I did say you gave him a good thorough answer. But i guess I was just talking about the part where you would spare him. I did not wanna start an argument with anyone, and Im not gunna try to prove any more points because poeple are always gunna add their, and take it the wrong way. So my bad

every car will make different gains and react differently to the same part.

nobody can answer for sure what it will do to your engine.

I just installed the Injen cold air intake and I must say it's much better. There is a bit of a whistle from 1-2k but (OH WELLL) any other time or under throttle the noise goes away.

Definately adds a nice kick of extra go in there.

Throaty exhaust note pre-vtech, and during V-tech, you'll feel damn proud of yourself for doing it :-)

Injen's intake system comes with great instructions too (not that you need them).

If I had to guess HP, since there's no dyno in my garage.. I'd say 10hp definately

its vtec.

and you want to know why theres so much "information?"

its because more than half of it is repeated information from threads such as yours. If you did proper research before hand you would find the proper information you were looking for. And if not, you could add to that previous informational thread your new question to be answered and to be helpful for the next guy.

theres a method to the madness...

+1. I have an ebay pipe and a AEM dryflow air filter. The only thing missing is shiny paint (which I will be sanding/spraying it black sometime soon).

Really??? Wow. Never knew that. I thought people were saying it was only a few hp.

Then again, I think I've only heard this on 4 cylinder engines...

We are working on fixing our search. The search works , you just have to know how to utilize it. Go to ramblings and look at the upgrade sticky. It tells how to use it better.
