Some add custom turbos, some speak of the 6mt swap, some of the 3.5 engine swap, I guess he went with the TL to Civic engine conversion.

32V means 4 valves per cylinder x 8 cylinders = 32 valves. experience has shown me that *in general* (not always) more valves per cylinder goes hand in hand with higher performance levels. it really boils down to the efficiency level of the engine i believe. someone let me know if i am completely out of whack on that one.

now in general that's 2 exhaust and 2 intake valves. some cars (i think the ford explorer is one) use 2 intake valves and one exhaust valve. it varies from car to car.

our cars have 24V (4 per cylinder) per the acura specification sheet.

32V = 3.2L engine with Vtec. Don't ask me why they did that, but that's what it means. There is a 2.5L version of the TL in Japan (Inspire / Saber) so the "32V" is the 'upgraded' engine (which is the same J32 engine we have in North America).

vTak y0!!!!! H0rs3powrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111

Back on topic, Just because vtec come standard in the 20,000 Civic doesn't mean its crap. I mean, do you think that Navigation systems are nothing anymore...just because you can get them in a civic...or Toyota Prius? Or power windows? Keep in mind their are cars that still don't have alot of these options as standard. Look at the brightside...we have TORQUE!!!

I didn't mean it's crap. It just that Vtec has become such a common occurence for Honda/Acura cars and trucks that there is no need to specially label it (as a 'V') on the trunk lid. Otherwise the whole trunk lid will be littered with labels such as DUAL-INTAKE-MANIFOLD, DIS, REAR-DISK-BRAKES, ALB, SIDE AIRBAGS, DRIVE-BY-WIRE, NAVIGATION, DUAL-ZONE-CLIMATE-CONTROL, SLIDING-SHADE-MOON-ROOF, etc, etc.

Ehh like it or not, VTEC has become somewhat synonymous with high performance and almost everyone knows about it. Its probably displayed like that for some time of marketing purpose.

Yeah, the Inspire engine has 5.3 valves per cylinder.

4 valves per cylinder x 6 cylinders = 24 valves

The 32v badges just means 3.2L VTEC engine.

25V and 32V

The V distinguishes it from the inline motors that Toyota (1 and 2JZ come to mind) and Nissan (RB25DET and RB26) use. Those are really good engines in the Soarer/Chaser line and Skylines, respectively.

So 32V is 3.2 Liter V configuration, not VTECH. But I do admit thats a good way to describe it.....
