03 TL, besides an AEM intake, any quick mod suggestions??

I just bought my 2003 Acura TL and an new to these forums, my buddy owns an e36 M3 and is on eurowerks all the dam time, so he suggested i join an acura forum to learn more about my new car.. so far im loving it, i have read so far that there isnt any after market chips for my car so im ruling that out, and I am putting an AEM intake on this next week or a Weapon R? any real difference? But besides the intake any tips on mods i can do? thanks a lot guys!

I have been looking around and there is a lot of drivers who did the k/n drop filter with the intake resonator delete, does that give you as much gains that a AEM would?

intake will make a lovely noise when you step on the skinny pedal and get into vtec.

Dont expect any major gains from it tho

Weapon R (or any short ram) will give you a glorious, raw bellow when you get into VTEC. A cold air will give you a deeper sound. Both are extremely addictive.

But the difference between SRI and CAI is negligible in my opinion and is the cause for endless arguments.

Save your money and get a cheaper intake, I just bought an AC Autotechnic cold air for $80, get the Option Racing crank pulley and belts for $60, and a Megan racing header for $240. You've just freed up 30-35 horsepower at the wheels for $380. Search to see what 98-02 v6 accord parts fit your Tl, it will save you money.

i appreciate it guys, i don't mind the power she puts out now, but i love to have a project in the garage, and the headers and pulleys sound like the second project after the intake, aka 15 mins lol, dam this winter coming i sure wish i bought my TL in the spring! and as for the intake im probably going to buy a weapon R, AEM's are dam expensive, and if the power gains are basically the same i am going with the cheaper. college sucks haha

All intakes are fairly close, I had a Weapon R secret and the thick foam filter on it is a bit restrictive. The DC sports intake is around the same price. As for other mods, an exhaust wont add much of anything unless you replace the cat converter with a high flow one...the piping on the type s is a bit larger and you can get an axle-back exhaust to remove the restrictive stock mufflers. After that you have to dig unless you go Supercharger or nitrous. Outlaw makes a nice throttle body and intake manifold spacer kit that will eliminate heat soak and give you a small hp gain.

yea, i don't know anyone with the weapon r, that cheaper intake you were talking about i will research it, i don't really mind the exhaust right now, and those are expensive mods for not a huge gain.. The one thing im most scared of is droning, nothing is more annoying!! i was thinking of an axle back exhaust because of course when i first bought it i wanted to see my options, the cat back exhaust to magnaflows sounded nice but im kinda shakey on the whole topic

Another cheap option is to port and polish your intake manifold and lower runners.

Also, don't be afraid to buy used parts. There really isn't much difference between a used intake pipe and an old one.

And personally, I'd do sway bars first. It made the car way more fun to drive.

yes, a sway bar is key! i think some nice tires would help too, would some nice all seasons help? or should i get a set for winter and summer? i know the all seasons are a lot cheaper obviously because you only need one set.. but if there is a big difference i might consider it..
