Youngest TL Owner?

Hey guys, I'm 16, and I got my license about a year ago and on that same day bought my dad's boss's silver 1999 3.2TL. It was mainly stock, but due to my "former" job at Buffalo Wild Wings , I was able to afford some minor tune ups...Some of these were put on the car by the previous owner, but they include the following:
MTX AUDIO Thunder TC6004 Amplifier, 12", T5500 Loaded Vented Enclosure: TCE5512D Subwoofers, Thunder Dome-Axials TDX6903 Speakers
STREETGLOW Neo-Blue LED Interior Lights
COMPTECH Headers
AEM CAI, Pullies
3A RACING Exhaust Tips
VIPER Alarm
TEIN Springs

There are also some Mods I plan on adding in the near future, but since I live in the Windy City, and the winter's a real pain in the ass, I've decided to wait on new rims and tires..etc...till the spring of '07...I plan on buying these 18" Greed Devotion Rims in black...and maybe a OEM Body kit as well...

why the hell would a 10 year old buy a car? Shouldn't he just be getting a new set of roller blades or something? I mean, by the time the kid can actually drive, the car is gonna be so outdated! LOL! I was 18 when I got my TL, and I'm 22 1/2 now and have owned a TL ever since!

I actually did pay for the car myself...I paid 5 grand. It also helps to buy a car from your dad's boss and best friend, and he was buying a new TL anyway, and he really had no use for a so-called "beater" when he drives this car:
(This is his actual car....I got to drive it once and lets just say it would make virtually "any car" look like a heap of crap....)

If your wondering what the guy does for a living he owns a branch of banks in the south suburbs of Chicago...Just to compare my dad is the CEO of the network and only makes about a 10th of what this dude makes...And the best thing is that there is no catch...no lease....its all paid in full...He paid roughly $195,000 for this beast...Just insane...I honestly think this would make any mid-grade ferrari look dispicable...

I took some pictures for you guys....And took down some specs from his window sticker that he had framed in his office...

Hope the pics work..still trying to figure this one out...

Sorry forgot some of the specs and stuff on that Benz...Basically a house on wheels...minus the space...

2005 Mercedes-Benz SL-CLass SL65 AMG Renntech Edition

V (frick'n) 12 Engine!!! 670 horse!!! 763.6 ft. lb torque / 0-60 4.2-4.3 Sec
The only thing not to like if anything, and if you hate anything about this car ur insane---> Automatic Transmission....does have a SportShift like Transmission similar to the TL, but is actually called a SpeedShift, I believe is the name given to it.
Black Interior
20,600 miles

Exterior Features

Formula 1 inspired front air dam with black mesh grill, special intake and heat extractors.

AMG-design front air dam with mesh air intakes, side skirts and rear apron with mesh air diffuser.

Four polished stainless-steel exhaust tips.

Electrohydraulic retractable aluminum hardtop, operated via console control or SmartKey remote. Rear window pivots 180° while top folds, for more space-efficient stowage of folded top in trunk.

Double-hinged trunk lid opens at front edge for top retraction and at rear for access to cargo area.

Dual power mirrors, linked to driver's seat memory and automatically heated.

Easy-Pack system tilts up folded roof at the touch of a button for easier access to trunk compartment.

Attachable fine-mesh wind deflector (fastens to roll bar in either raised or retracted position).

Auto-dimming left-side mirror.

Parking-assist right-side mirror can be programmed to tilt down upon shifting to Reverse.

Electrically heated rear window with auto-shutoff based on time, driving speed and outside temperature.

Dual aero-blade windshield wipers.

Heated washer nozzles. Heated wiper parking position.

Infrared rain sensor automatically adjusts wiper speed and intermittent wiper frequency from infinite delay to constant wiping, based on amount of rainfall measured on windshield.

Bi-Xenon High Intensity Discharge low-beam headlamps with automatic level control, halogen high beams, clear high-impact polycarbonate lenses, and heated headlamp washers.

Halogen front foglamps. Single red rear foglamp, integrated in left taillamp cluster.

Driver-selectable light-sensing headlamps can be set via the Auto position of the headlamp switch to automatically illuminate in darkness, and when entering dark tunnels or parking garages.

Driver-programmable Daytime Running Lamps illuminate low-beam headlamps in daylight, with auto-on override in darkness.

Automatic lamp substitution uses a nearby lamp if a critical bulb fails.

Red and smoke-color rear lamp covers with dual-intensity LED brake lamps and taillamps. Touch Turn Signals flash three times with one touch of turn-signal lever, for lane-changing. Auxiliary LED turn signal indicators are integrated with side mirror housings.

Parking-assist right-side mirror can be programmed to tilt down upon shifting to Reverse.

Electrically heated rear window with auto-shutoff based on time, driving speed and outside temperature.

Locking and Security

SmartKey uses an electronic code to unlock the gearshift and ignition. Removing SmartKey from ignition disables engine computer to help prevent unauthorized starting

SmartKey remote locking uses redundant infrared and radio-frequency signals for improved range, and rolling-code signal for protection from transmitter cloning.

SmartKey offers infrared-remote opening/closing of windows and remote raising/lowering of hardtop, and can turn on Active Ventilated seats, from outside the car.

Driver-programmable user-recognition feature links each SmartKey to driver's preferences (up to three individual users per car) for: driver's seat memory settings (including steering column and outside mirror positions) and various climate control settings.

Driver-programmable driveaway locking can automatically lock the doors when the car reaches 9 mph.

Night security illumination uses the car's exterior lights to help illuminate a path after parking. Driver-programmable intervals allow lights to stay on for 60, 45, 30 or 15 seconds, or not at all.

Locator lighting uses the car's lights to help light a return path when the car is remote-unlocked in darkness. Unlocking car activates illuminated entry system, which includes interior lighting, plus entrance lamps in both doors.

Tele Aid GPS-based Stolen Vehicle Recovery allows law enforcement agencies to track and recover stolen vehicle.

Tele Aid Remote Door Unlock allows owner to have doors automatically unlocked in the event the SmartKey becomes locked inside vehicle.

Tele Aid Automatic Alarm Notification alerts Mercedes-Benz to contact vehicle owner if antitheft alarm sounds

Who cares. There's probably a lot 16 year olds driving around in their own brand new Ferraris. And anyways, the only thing that guy read was: "0-60: 4.2 seconds" Those features are amazing.... automatic headlights and automatic defroster to name a couple.

So a guy who owns a bunch of banks and drives around in a SL, owned a TL, modded none the less, and sold it to you for $5k because he is your dad's friend who is the CEO of these said banks... Also the list for the SL seems like a basic cut & paste job from a spec. list somewhere. Yes, I'm suggesting you're a liar.

Thumbs down Benz?

Benz is awful. Being dye-hard Honda/Acura/Nissan/Lexus(not toyota)/Corvette fan (yes all of them) I dispise Benz. That price tag is insane.
Do you want luxury? Than get a Lexus LS with MANY more features for less. It even parks itself!
Do you want sport? The Z06 would destroy this thing hands down.
Do you want a hard top? There are many nice hardtop converts out there for under 40k.
And as far as the V12 goes - it's useless. The only thing it is good for is holding top speeds which, unless you do endurance oval racing, can never be used as much as a V6 or V8 tuned for accel.
I am yet to find one thing I like about benz.
Besides - why is this in 2nd gen TL forum?

Nice car by the way (ur tl)

I don't want to be an ass but those photos were taken off an Ebay add. Ebay's photo mark on the bottem right is in all the photos.

If you memebers don't believe me, copy and paste "2005 Mercedes-Benz SL-CLass SL65 AMG Renntech Edition" and you'll find the pics.

Even the *Specs* seems abit copy and pasted? The fonts don't even match his written fonts above from someone who so-called written down specs from a framed window sticker sheet.

You maybe lying or you maybe telling the truth but you got busted and the evidence show.

just my two cents.

who really cares if hes lying about someone else's benz not to accuse him of lying in the first place... at least he didnt say its his benz... and besides to defend him maybe he copied and pasted an sl that looked like the guy's... not necessarily his exact benz.. and copy and pasted the specs to show what its got. just my 2 cents.. but id like to reiterate this point: who cares?? haha... compliment him on his ride its pretty damn nice for a 16 year old... and if he paid for it himself more power to him.

You didn't go anywhere trying to defend him.

Since you are asking the "Who cares" in a form of a question, I'll respond. I don't care, but i just like to point out his actions for all the AZ members to see.

I do agree with you on the last sentence though. My little brother is 14 and he is not even close to buying his own vehicle unless somone buys it for him.
