wth is that...
wth is that...
Okay im a car noobie, but my moms 01 TL has this wierd huge chunk of rock looking thing behind the rims. I THINK where the caliper is supposed to be? Anyone know what the heck that is? or is it that supposed to be there or what. Kinda buggin me.
Looks like a real slab of rock in the wheel. I dont really live with my mom and she keeps doesnt really drive her TL much so i dont thik i can get a picture. Ill try though.
If it is I would just take the wheel off and give it a look see anyway. It could be very dangerous not to mention expensive for a new wheel rotor, caliper, drive shaft, CV joint etc, if that thing decides to lock up the wheel.
I think that things been there for awhile. I first noticed it a month ago? and since then my mom took me out in it a few times. She didnt mention anything and while in the ride i didnt feel anything out of the norm. But god seriously wth is that... Shoulda asked the dealer at customer appreciation day

If you're talking about the rectangular pieces of metal stuck on the inside of the rim...those are the lead weights that keep the tire balanced...these are installed when you get your tires spin balanced. Mine were missing on one rim and they stuck on a new one when I went to have it spin balanced. don't remove it.!!!
