I have a 00 TL and want the red/clear 02-03 taillights. What is this wiring harness that seems to cost above and beyond the taillight cost? I take it the 02-03 lights arent plug-n-play on the 00-01s?

when i looked at "www.autocarparts.com", i saw a wiring harness for the rear lights but it was only about $40 bucks for the pair. Still trying to find out if it's necessary. I'd get them just for the hell of it just in case and if not then return them.

I bought the imitation 2002 clear tail lights on ebay they were under $200 shipped, bolt on no leaking problems and no harness needed, order from the guy that has the buy it now option the other seller is an azz.

You dont need the harness, you can just plug the bulbs into the new lights. Granted it wount fit perfectly but it'll work.

If you buy the aftermarket ones sold on ebay and other performance shops, it is direct fit.

If you buy OEM 02+ TL tails, you do need a harness to fit the turn sig bulbs properly. Or you can be cheap and tape the bulbs in place. I suggest calling 1(888)RAY-LAKS (tollfree) and talk to Tim. He can hook you up with a 02+ TL tails for $300 shipped which include the wiring harness. btw Tim is the internet sales manager for Ray Laks Acura/Honda/Daewoo in Buffalo, NY. You can trust him with your order.

I had both aftermarket and OEM and quality wise, both are nearly equal. OEM are of course the best of quality but I don't know if it is worth 100+ dollars difference. Both are good so just pick whichever.
