wipers slapping

dont know if this has been discussed before.. but i recently bought new wiper blades from ACURA they are the new design that look like the aero wipers but are not... the driver is a 28 and the pass is a very small like 16 or something.. and they work great but they slap on the windshield with normal rain.... with washer fluid theydont.... why would this be? i have aquapel on the windsheild and i was thinkin what i could do to the windshield to make them not jump like they are.... any ideas? thanks

might be a broken linkage again, idk

but if it really bothering you, i would just get some different wiper blades, not like they are that much to replace like $15 per side

also how you say the driver side is like a 28, is it too long??? and hitting the top of the windshield, turn them on and stand outside the car
and iirc it should be either a 24 or 26 on the driverside, with like a 19 on the passenger side

and the slapping might be because the windshield is just that much more slippier under certian conditions causing the wipers to move that much faster, so the noise is that much more noticable, then at other times

stupid edit limit time :S,

(or hitting each other when they go through there sweep)(also remember the spring pressure on the arm is only designed for a original length wiper blade, so it may not have sufficient pressure for that longer blade, so the slapping),

Driver side is 24 inches and passenger is 19. Get the right size and they'll be OK

how about: its the stuff you put on the glass?
It causes interferance with the rubber of the blades just like crud and car wax will.

Clean glass with rubbing alcohol on newspaper (wadded) to remove, and wipers will be ok as long as the correct size

well acura told me they would be fine on my car and they were working great with washer fluid and didnt make one skip at all.. but for some reason rain water makes it do that... idk why the difference but o well.. ill take the wipers back to acura and get some different sizes... and well see what happens.... but on my friends 2010 camry, we put aqua pel on his too and his wipers work great on the car....nice and smooth going across... i like his wipers too there like normal ones but with hard plastic covers on them to make em look like aero ones and they look like the same size as mine,, and the connectors the same. maybe ill order from toyota.

geez, go buy some bosch icons and be done with it
Aero to the max-built in spoiler at rear edge, awesome blades

Its possible you had crud on the glass before applying the special sauce
unless you cleaned window with alcohol first
that may be your prob- try cleaning glass with alcohol, then CLAYBAR the glass with soapy water
that picks stuff out of the mico pockets we all have in the glass from sand and road grit

must remove that if you want top performance from the system

I ordered and installed the wiper blade from a 09 TSX, driver side and the 09 Honda Accord pass side and am very happy with the performance. As mentioned above, I too like the "Aero blade" look of the new cars wipers. 24" and 19". They seem to tuck under and out of the way as well when in the off position.
