Exclamation Winter is killing my windshield wipers!

Here in Albany, NY the cold weather & snow is ruining my acura

A few nights ago i didn't realize my wipers were frozen to my windshield so when i turned them on they got screwed up and the passenger wiper arm bent a little and the driver wiper's bolt loosened which caused them to cross...

I bent the passenger wiper back into place and tightened the bolt with my hands (as tight as i could) and they work but there really shot...

I was thinking about getting Bosch Icon's and wanted to know if I were to buy them, when you install them do you remove the TL arms and replace them with the icon kit or is it JUST the wipers that are being replaced? I really want to replace the whole arm cause of it being slightly bent.

also if someone could post a link to a tutorial or instructions on how to install them it would be greatly appreciated.

The Icons are just wipers...

Thats all you get, im not sure if you're talking about the actual arms that come out from your hood or the metal parts of the blades (some wipers have replaceable blades).

If its the arms from the hood that are damaged you need to find new ones in a junk or from the dealer....

Icons are nice cuz theyre all plastic so theoretically (according to bosch) ice wont stick to them... I've had them since october, and so far so good...

you gotta tap the wiper switch down and they will lift enough for you change them... just a light little tap...

To give you a little more room, turn on your wipers as you are sitting in te cabin and turn off your key all the way when the wipers are all the way to the left. Turning the key off will stop the wipers from completing their revolution down and they will stay up. Then, you can pull them up and you have some room to work.

I think they design it that way to reduce drag and turbulence at high speeds. Pretty neat actually.

They really are easy... it's probably harder to take the old wipers off than putting the Icons on.

there's usually a book or box with an LCD display next to the windshield wipers at the store that'll tell you what size you need for your car.
