Windshield wipers

For the past couple of months the manual windshield wiper and the high windshield wiper settings would not work, so I got by with just the intermittent and low settings. In the past two weeks these two settings have worked only after I had them turned on for a while, and just yesterday both of these settings would not come on at all when I turned them on. The windshield wiper fluid will still squirt out when I pull the windshield wiper lever towards me (the lever located on the right of the steering column) but the wipers don't work under this setting either.
Does anyone have any hints/clues as to how I could fix this?
Thanks.

Dude...I'm lucky to get 9-12 months on my wipers (Florida Sun & Heat sucks rocks)

If I use Rain-X, I get about half that (I think there is something in the formula that eats away at the rubber)

there was a TSB about bad factory windshield wiper fluid that would eat away the rubber in the wiper fluid rubber hoses. could it be this?

I had a recall on my wipers because the fluid that it came with ate through the rubber on the wipers. I would call the dealer and ask them to replace them under recall. If nothing else I would get the new Bosch wipers, a little pricey at 18 a piece but very quiet!
