Windshield Problem

There are stain marks/ a film of something on my rainshield that I can't get off. I tried using every possible material that can be bought but itz still there. Anyone have the same problem?

Back in Feb of this year, I brought my car to Markham Acura in Toronto and told them bout the problem, they said they would replace my windshield if they can't get the stuff off (dunno if I heard right)

But when I went to North Toronto Acura this tues they said that they will try the best to clean it up. So can anyone confirm that if this stuff can't be taken off, the windshield is still under warranty to be exchanged for a new one?

depending on the year of your TL, there is a recall for this problem on certain Acura's. It's a problem with the washer tubing deterioating and as a result smearing all over the windshield, and when you try to clean the windshield with anti-freeze, you're essentially making the problem worse.

you can print this PDF file from @curaW0rld

http://www.*cura*orld.com/tsb/2001/B01-004.pdf

replace the first * with "a" and the second * with "w"

anyhow, use this as a reference if you don't get satisfaction

take care.

I have horrible streaks along my windshiels that won't come off. What can I try? I have the feeling that nothing will get them off. The service order mentions nothing about allowing for a new windshield.

I use Einman Fabrik Window Cleaner for my windshield and windows. Safe for tint too. Stoner's Invisible glass is another great window cleaner. Windshield is one of the most neglected part of the car.

To get other tuff stuff off my windshield I've also used clay bar. It did a pretty good job but you still have to use some liquid window cleaner afterwards.

If you can't find it, you might want to try 00000 steel wool and Windex.
Spray the window and lightly rub with steel wool in one direction only. Try a small corner area first to see if you get any scratches.

Try a straight edge razor blade; if that doesn't work nothing will. Some solvent like gasoline may help.
