Windshield Just Cracked Out of Nowhere..

So I was going into my car to grab something.. and next thing I realize.. my windshield cracked... I remember coming home from school in the morning with no crack and it's been sitting in the driveway for the whole day and right when I check on it.. there's a crack.. really dissappointing as I am trying to sell the car too..

How the f**k does that happen? Can a windshield crack by thesmselves? Pretty sure nothing dropped into the windshield..

Vandalism? Sucks man.

Here in AZ, any windshield damage (flying rocks on highway, etc.) is covered by insurance. Dunno about CA though.

How serious is the crack? You could put some of that resin on there so the crack won't spread. However, if it's longer than a quarter (25c) in size, you should replace it.

i remember back then there was a small chip in the windshield.. and where it cracked today.. the crack went through that chip so i guess it was cause of the chip and drastic temperature changes.. it was so hot today.. i'll post pics soon.

Haha, I remember reading stories about people trying to "defrost" their frozen windows with boiling water.

Rock chip, temperature change, and rough ride from being dropped are the reasons this happened. The rough ride I believe just made this happen quicker than it should have.

The main reasons are def rock chip (weak point in windshield), and temperature change (expanding/contracting)

Does that sound right?

Dude you need to replace that. It's a safety hazard.
