WINDOW TRIM...anyone have this problem also??

On my window trim, the glossiness seams to be fading. Looks like it was painted and now it's coming off. Does anyone else have this problem? Has anyone purchased these from the dealer? Any idea how much for all four?

Yes, in fact I just had these replaced at my dealer. They only charged me $163 for both the drivers and the passengers side. The parts were about $128 total, about $32 per trim piece and they only charged me about $34 labor. It will probably happen again, but if I'm good for another 5 years, I'm a happy man.

Is this a common problem? Is it better to have a shop repaint it instead of having to buy new ones every 5 years?

have you guys just tried to detail it. items like back to black or even just some plastic cleaner work pretty well and won't cost as much as the dealer is charging.

I seem to be having the exact same problem. On mine it doen't look
like the surface finnish is dammaged but an underlying defect.

Almost like a pocket of moisture or air is inside the piece.

What year is youra and why was it not covered by warranty?

Before I spen a few hundred I think I will just re-paint it myself with
high gloss black paint. Got nothing to loose.

Ahh.. I see yours is a 99. Two years older than mine. Funny thing on mine
is that it is only on the trailing edge of the front doors. Nothing on the rear
doors. Strange.

My car does the exact thing, its annoying cause I see it everytime I get in the car. I found a very good Honda/Acura shop and Im going to see how much they will charge. They quoted me $100 for install on springs! By far the least expensive, plus they can get just about any part and spring for a good price. Looks like my wish list will be -1 in no time

I guess I'll try to paint it with high gloss black also. I guess that's the only step before have to hand over a wad to the dealer. Damn, they gouge you for four pieces.
