there is a thread going on right now about tints: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99561 check it out and you should be able to learn a lot! a picture of my car w/ tints is posted there too so you'll have an idea how dark it is.

btw, the lower % number, the darker it is.

I would only go with black but that is just my preference. I had Platinum and hated it.

safe bet

get black tint at 35%

it will improve the look, provide some privacy, protect your valuables from theives at night, give your passengers some relief from the suns glare, and lastly, its legal.

my 2cents. i love my tint. get it from a quality experienced installer. i paid $170 cash for mine with lifetime warranty.

What is legal in Canada? I have 20% rears and 35% front. Love the "privacy" and of course the relief from the summer days. Like Redbaronace go with a quality experienced installer. So no bubbles and fading later.

honestly from my experience, a tint job if done correctly shouldn't have any problems later on. as long as you get a good brand ie: Llumar or Solar Guard you should be okay in terms of fading. So ideally you should find a shop that wont cost you an arm and a leg. i went to this shop where they not only do tint jobs on cars, but also on homes and offices as well. I had an anthracite TL-S which i had them do a 13% HP charcoal tint all around. It was pretty clean and it only cost me $120 to do the whole thing after negotiating. I also had lifetime warranty in case it bubbles, peels, or fades.

My ride now is a black Mazda 6. I went to another shop my friend got his audio hookups from and they did it for $100 on Solar Guard 5% limo tint all around. Definitely a clean job and worth the buck. Just look up discount auto tint shops in google for your area and call a few numbers and get the lowest price. This is an investment you should look into before jumping to conclusions.
