Question Window Tint in Orlando?

I'm relocating to Orlando, FL in two weeks and would like to find a shop that does Tinting. I planned on getting it done (before leaving) by a place in Northern VA but, they will not warranty anything darker than 38% because of State Laws. If anyone can recommend a place in the Orlando/Maitland area that does a quality job and doesn't charge an arm and a leg, I would really appreciate it. Thanks for the help.

I can recommend places north in Jax, but I don't know about Orlando...There are a couple of Orlando guys on here, though...In fact, you can call Speedzone Performance in Orlando and ask for Vishal and he could probably recommend someone...On this site he is known as 'importcult'...
Florida, by the way, is legal to 35% on the front two windows and that's it...Most of us here have illegal, darker tint. I personally have 20% all the way around and it isn't that dark. Believe me...

Good luck!

r10apple -- Have the Police hassled you at all for being illegal? I had planned on getting 28% all the way around but, maybe I'll need something darker. Any chance you could post a pic of yours w/20%? I'm guessing it will look darker on WDP TL-S with Ebony interior. Thanks for the response.

Never been hassled in this car, and if they pull you over, it's a big $22 ticket and no license points. So what...
It looks darker than it is. Standard tint around here usually runs 50%, 35%, 20% and 5%...My old cars all had 5% but I'm getting older and at night in the rain was a bi+ch around curbs and stuff...20% is just right and I don't care for cars with two different shades of tint on them...

Nice. Looks like I'm going with 20%. I'll get in touch with Speedzone Performance once I'm down there. Thanks for the help.

R10apple - Nice wheels, car looks great!

99Hokie - I live in Orlando and had my tint done at Doughty's Custom Detail - (407) 851-9566. They did an excellent job and were recommended by the dealer I purchased the car from.

sundial2k -- Thanks for responding. Do you mind sharing what they charged for your TL? Also, do they provide a Lifetime Guarantee?

In my previous posting I gave you their phone # so you could contact them directly and get detailed answers to your questions.

I think I paid $175.

That's a good rate...I paid $185...
I have to tell you, though...if they do something not necessarily legit (20%), you may not get a written guarantee...Most of these guys know their own work, though...Besides, in Florida, tint usually starts fading at the 5 year mark for even the best tint...

Guess what they say about the sun being strong down there is really true. I think 5 years should be long enough......can't imagine I'll have the car much longer than that.

It is true...
I go to the beach all the time. I stay tan year 'round--really tan. When I go to the Keys (still in Florida just 350 miles south of Jax), I get burned to a crisp in a single day! Imagine what it does to your tint, interior and your paint...You have to stay on it for sure...
