This will ruin your day...

Less then 2 hrs ago as I was coming home with my wife from her parents house this happened... We were waiting first in line at a red light and a 99 Tahoe plowed into the back of our TL. I know what you guys are thinking... dude that sucks... yup lol it does suck. I just became a member on this site less then a week ago. I bought the car less then 2 months ago from a 1 owner in GA. Its flawless no accidents (prior to this one) only 57k miles... this sucks! LOL but I cant seem to do anything but laugh about it because whats being pissed off really going to accomplish. So, the TL is going in the shop tomorrow. I get to drive a rental.. yay! LOL

Bummer! It appears that most of it is the trunk lid and bumper

ya its not bad but if it would've been worse then it would've been totaled out and I would just be able to get another TL. not that I want to but I just really really hope the body shop doesnt butcher it and do a crappy job. the worst part is the fact that I just bought it like 2 months ago and I was so excited to find a 2nd gen TL with such low miles, navi, and with a perfect record (no accidents) well so much for that perfect record LOL

Did he not see you or something? Thats quite a bit for someone just to plow into the rear of you at a red light. Did he have a brush guard?

ya LOL he did have a brush guard.... he also had a kid in the back seat which is the reason he plowed into me. he claimed his son was distracting him and he didnt see me and by the time he slammed on his brakes it was too late. thats why kids need to be buckled in.. watching their favorite cartoons on a drop down screen or one in a headrest. its all good at least my wife and i are ok ... could've been a lot worse

Glad to see you are okay. Now you have an excuse to get some 03 tails, even if they aren't damaged (if you want them that is).

That really sucks and I know how you feel. Got rear ended by a saturn, but not as bad as you. I only had my car for a week too. Good luck with everything.

I don't wanna hijack your thread but....

My special order 2007 Honda Accord V6 6 speed. Black on Black. 13 days old.

We should start a thread. "Graphic Honda Pictures". Rated PG-13?

Wow thats diesel man the Accord too I feel bad for you also 13 days and got owned.

look on the positive side, the damage is mostly to the rear bumper cover and trunk lid. If i am correct, you an buy them, have them painted to match and to save some $$$, install them yourself, the bumper removal should be here somewhere n the 2G forums and the decklid should be pretty straightforward. As for the accord what happened???? Did you get it repaired???

I was rear ended so Im 100% NOT at fault. The other guy has good insurance so the car is in the shop. Accident happened sunday afternoon and this morning I already dropped it off at the shop and got a rental. They said the repairs cost $3600 which includes brand new genuine Acura (Honda) parts. New tail lights, deck lid, bumper reinforcement, bumper cover and the rear section sheet metal which is pushed in and instead of straightening it out like most cheap shops would do they're replacing it. Why do the work myself and its all paid for by the insurance. It wasnt my fault so let them do the work while I get to sport this great 07 Pontiac Vibe... LOL LOL

You ever been in a stop sign showdown? When the person across the intersection from you gets to the intersection first? But then doesn't go? That's what happened. The lady waited until I commited to going through the intersection then she decided to go. At the same time a teenage girl was speeding and talking on her celly. I got hit by both of them.

The repair costs are over $22,000. So the insurance company is deciding wheather or not to total the car. It's been two weeks. Please decide!

Yeah. Imagine my surprise! The TL-S wheels only come with the EXL V6 6 speed. And a RED "V6" badge. My TL is quick. But, the Accord would eat it for lunch.

If you see a red "V6" badge on a new Accord. Don't fox with it!

It looks like you are still lucky with the damage. no damage to the body, meaning no patching. replace the trunk lid, the bumper, do the alignment and hopefully you are good to go. make sure no damage the engine mount.

damn man sorry to hear your hit. glad you're ok. I had a similar accident - although it was offset and a 90s 4runner. I'm surprised you didn't take more damage from the Tahoe.

If ya need to compare quotes, holla at me.

This car has to be totalled!

My wife had a 1999 Honda Prelude and someone rear ended it, looks like exact same impact and they totalled it, giving her about $11k.

hey 03typeStl- ya Honda thought... hmm which rims should we put on the all new 6 speed 4door Accord V6? Oh ya, how about some rims we used for two years and look sick! for being stock rims... so they went with the 02-03 TL-S rims. Smart thinking because they look sweet.

hey t0ast- sorry to hear you wrecked your TL as well... to answer your question the driver of the Tahoe said his son sitting in the back distracted him and when he looked forward and saw me sitting at the red light it was too late... so Im guessing he hit the brakes but it was too late and I didnt hear skids either but he probably has abs so thats why... I got a quote of $3600 and its in the shop right now... I took it in yesterday morning and they gave me a rental. they said it'll take 2 weeks because they ordered all the parts from Acura. my insurance is covering everything and then they're going after that guys insurance to get their money back and they'll get it too because he has good insurance and its obviously his fault LOL... he got out of the car and was like "man im so sorry its totally my fault..." im thinking ya LOL duh!!! LOL thats a bit obvious LOL

Yeah... But now both cars in my driveway have the same wheels. Nice wheels but, damn, kinda cheesy. I guess that's my own fault for choosing the cars.

ouch! damn sorry to hear about your accident after only having the car for a short period of time. I find myself peeking in my mirror when cars approach me even though there isnt much you can do about someone rear ending you . Hope everything goes smoothly!

I knew I was gonna be cool some day! Maybe I'll swap the rims on them. That'll really fuck people up! Um... What?

I just put dibbs on our new Accord today. I'm not waiting to special order that shit again. I want it NOW. But there's no black, no white, no cool colors. We chose silver on black with navi. We gotta wait until Friday for delivery. Atleast thats better than June!
