will my Vafc reset if...

I need to remove the battery and do some electric work which will last much over 15min and i know the ecu is going to reset (whopty f**** do right). Question is, will the Vafc reset its settings from having no power 'cause i dont want to have to pay another $130 to get the car re-dynotuned.

helps appreciated. ty!

*btw i changed the batter not long ago and the vafc didnt reset, but the car must've been out of power for like 2minutes.

I don't know about the first version, but the second version retains all the information even when the power is disconnected.

1st gen VAFC saves all the settings. Think about it. when you shut off the engine, there is no power to it. Unhooking the battery doesn't do anything different.

sounds like you have a doubt there.... seems like i'll have to write down all the settings and reprogram them IF it resets...but then there's a lot of menus and i might miss something =

anyone 100% perfectly absolutely positively and utterly sure?

there is no doubt there.

IF the vafc only has 1 power wire cutting the power wont reset any thing. like nsxnext said, it would be just like turning the car off over night

I am 100% absolutely certain that the V-AFC II will not lose the settings when the battery is disconnected. I can't imagine why the original V-AFC will be any different.

I had my battery un-hooked for at least 2 hours and the V-AFC did not need to be re-set so don't worry about it or call Apexi if need be
