AEM V2 will fit 99-01 TL because it uses the same application as the 98-02 Accord V6 (which has more of an aftermarket following). Only downside to a AEM V2 is that you can't fit a bypass....so a bigger chance of hydrolocking. Also the V2 is more expensive then all other intake for the TL. AEM V.1 can be fitted with a bypass valve and is cheaper.

hydrolocking is water inside the engine. Since water is incompressible and your pistons wants to compress......see the problem?

yes but i wouldnt worry about it. you would have to drive through a puddle over a foot deep for some time inorder for that to happen

Basically you would have to submerge the whole filter for it to suck up water. But the valve is an insurance, better safe then sorry.

Thx for the info on that V2. since I already ordered I may as well use it I guess I could return it and get a regular AEM cai and the bypass valve but I have no intention of driving it through any large amounts of water, but we'll see.

i never found the point to using a bypass, since it ruins the otherwise smooth flow of the tube. just don't try to win any races while it's raining.

Even VSA? then NOPE it wont fit plug & play (That's why I was asking) The V2 was made for the TL-p only and it didn't took into consideration the extra space of the VSA Throttle Body. You will have to cut the V2 to fit.

You can swap the J32A2 into the TL-p with no trans.. Just the engine and make it work with the stock ECU.. It wont take full advantage of the J32A2 tough.

I don't think its gonna die u know they solved the problem. My 6th gen v6 accord had 280k when I sold it & didn't slip once & we got it new. So I guess its in maintaining fluid. & I also bought a cooler when I bought that new trans because I read that heat was a main problem.
