im haraing this wierd sound every time i start up my car and i stand outside next to the rear driver side. i hear like a put putting sound coming from under the car like its coming from the exhaust or something? thanks

i hear the same thing....i just got an oil change...get one every 3k miles!

 

ive just changed the oil like a week ago

 

im thinking i might have like a pin hole in the exhaust....im not a mechanic but i had a few pieces of shit and thats how i learned lol

 

k so if it is a pin hole how would i fix it? just get a new exhaust?

I think it is the fuel pump you are earing...

 

Twards the left rear of the car is where most of the evap stuff is like canister, canister vent shut valve, bypass solenoid and two-way valve.
The noises you are hearing could be some on these which may be normal.
If not have the dealer check it out under warranty if still available.

 

The fuel pump??? It makes a "put put" sound like as if there's a hole somewhere, so I see that I'm not the only one with this problem.

 

From beside the "putting" noise I also hear like a "thoing" noise from under the car as if my springs are bein plucked.

 

Sounds like what comes from under my car when its running and my best friends 98 av6 Its normal the dealer said . hit the gas it goes away for a while probally just the fuel pump or something im guessing.

Correct answer.
Any ticking noise you hear from the driver rear tire area is the evap canister. Completely normal operation here.

As for the put put noises I am not sure about that. I'll have to think about that one.

 

damn i hear the same thing in my 2003TL-S A spec..

but its from my rear driver side area....
it happens last night when i got into my garage.
with the engine idling, i hear the putting sound...
i thinks its a leak in the exhaust but i dunno...


after i rev the car a bit.. the sound was gone...........


if it comes back.. i'm gonna have to ask acura

I've got the same put put noise from the rear driver's side under the car. It's only at idle and sounds like a tiny exhaust leak.....touch the gas and it goes away. If anyone gets a confirmation from Acura on what this is, please share.

 

OMG same exact issue ....

probably not a big problem but it annoys the hell outta me just because its not normal.

 

but it is normal on the tl many have this issue.. its just the evap canister, nothing is wrong and its not going to hurt any thing. some are noiser that others. god knows mines been doing it for ovar 140k miles now. (always to lazy to drive it to the dealer while under warranty to get it fixed since the dealer was 1 hr40 min drive)

 

yeah but it sounds as my car is broke down and all b/c my boy just got a cls and his doesnt make any noise and my car is next to his making a noise. poor but i guess it is normal if everybody is having the same problem

 

if you are still under warranty bring it to the dealer. they may replace it for you if you complain

i was told that it was the evap canister so i just left it at that. but please feel free to ask a acura mechanic
